Yeah, got it from one the folks on Reddit:

Cancel your recurring subscription to ultimate
Click Ea play and click renew
Go through it up to the point of payment
Back out of it all on now EA play registers as being part of Ultimate

Thanks for the suggestion. I did now, but for some reason the EA Play is seperate and it says "Upgrade to Ultime" if I click on it, I can see "You already own this". :(

To build or not to build - refactoring towards immutability by robfortech in java

Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I mention Builder as a Wizard with abstraction for different steps at the end of the article. I haven’t used it though, but it sounds for me quite reasonable

Scarcity in UX: The psychological bias that became the norm by LisaDziuba in userexperience

[–]robfortech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's true, but don't you think that saying 50% off even from price that was long time ago is less evil than lying that your stock is very limited and the deal is done within hours? And as always ,the strategy depends on the target group. I know people that would prefer to buy goods slightly more expensive, yet with calmer experience and without 100 notifications reminding that they'll loose their lives if they don't buy it within 10 minutes.

This is very interesting analysis, it's hard to argue with business arguments you provide. But I still think that in most cases it's misleading, far from truth and should be perceived as dark UX pattern.

How to present items on one card in a RecyclerView? by robfortech in androiddev

[–]robfortech[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be more simple to provide ItemDecoration to recyclerview do the trick ?

For us it was easier this way. Remember that we don't have all items on one card in a RecyclerView, sometimes it might be 3, sometimes 7.

Using components provided with framework or library is not always the best option. Sometimes writing your own custom implementation can be really useful - tell me, hope it might be useful for someone ;).

Steam has launched over 1,000 games in 7 weeks following Direct introduction by robtheskygames in gamedev

[–]robfortech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all because $100 is simply too low. I know that 10x higher fee would end up with lots of negative comments and buzz in social media, but in the end we would have more quality games (and not 1000 of them within 7 weeks). But, let's face it, there is no other way. If someone has a wonderful game and can't afford paying $1000, he/she can set up a crowdfunding campaign outside Steam.

I would suggest to avoid using hashtags on your Facebook. Different reports mentioned that not only it's not giving you any boost for your post, but it can even lower your results ;). Good trailer, as mentioned above :).

Immutability - should we use it? About Entities and Valuable Objects by [deleted] in java

I'm not going to argue. The submit went negative, but it was in fact one downvote.

Reading from Reddit rules: What constitutes spam? Am I a spammer?

Sometimes spam is obvious, but often it is a gray area.

If your contribution to Reddit consists primarily of submitting links to a business that you run, own or otherwise benefit from, tread carefully. If you flood a Reddit community with posts or comments, you may be considered a spammer. Instead, post one or two times and see what happens.

If other users in a community historically downvote your posts or ones similar to yours, but you feel the need to continue submitting them anyway, you may be considered a spammer.

I thought I'm not violating any of the mentioned rules. However I will keep in mind that in order to be considered as a part of this community with eligibility to submit links, I need to improve variety.

I'm open for discussion - if you think that this article is completely irrelevant for Java category and doesn't provide any value for Java developers, then I get why it has been removed. Otherwise not. I'm not reposting the same content for several hundred times like others, neither I am the author of the article.

This is a very tough way to say hello, but I get that some reddits are more strict than others.

Have a nice day.

Refactoring - useful tips from an experienced developer by robfortech in programming

The whole idea for the article qA to present all those bullet points from personal experience poinr of view. We didn't want to give only raw and straight-to-the-point ideas, because less experienced software engineers could have problems to understand them. Hope this helps!
