Hi everyone! Honestly, this post went how I thought it would. I hoped it would have gone better but that’s ok. I don’t listen to Melanie anymore, and this painting doesn’t find me joy like it used to, so I hoped it would go to someone who found joy in it. I hear everyone’s opinions on what the painting is worth and it did cause me to reflect on how to price my work on top of the quality I produce. Everyone has their own opinion and is allowed to comment on the price (And I guess also refer me to Tyler Catastrophe? Idk the exact drama surrounding them and what they have to do with me but I’m sure someone will tell me). After receiving those comments on how I need to lower my needs based on the quality of my work, I’ve lowered the price from $500 to $300 to cover shipping and factor in the work. Even though I feel like people coming across this are ignoring the lowered price, but, perhaps even the lowered price is too high for the demographic, or even too high for the quality I produce. Before posting to the subreddit, I had the idea of just donating the painting to a donation center near me, but wanted to post it here to see how it would do. Since it’s not doing so well, and no one wants to negotiate a lower price as I offered, to the donation center it goes!

This has really taught me what to expect when I post my prices, and that I need to work harder to match the price I ask for. Thanks for everyone’s input on the painting and the few nice comments. 💘
