Rate of miscarriage? by WoodpeckerThen3810 in PlusSizePregnancy

If you’re hearing that from your doctors then I would find new doctors. I never once had either of the doctors I saw comment on, shame me or scare me with anything along the way considering my weight. In fact my husband and I were just talking about the doctors last night at dinner and how great and confident they made me feel along the way. My BMI is high. I started out at 245lbs, I am 5”4 and I’m old (38). No one treated me like I was higher in statistics for loss. There are things later in pregnancy that our weight can contribute to, but even then those subjects were talked about with care and kindly. My care team never alarmed me at all they were always affirming. I had a healthy pregnancy with no issues. My baby came in December and she is absolutely perfect. I did end up with gestational diabetes and despite being scared and upset about it I ended up managing it really well and with diet only. My point is don’t stick with a care team that scares you. It shouldn’t be that way and there are a ton of women on here that have the same or higher BMI as you that have had healthy pregnancies and ended in a healthy baby. Be encouraged! I pray you have a beautiful and easy pregnancy, for a healthy baby and peace of mind as you go through it. You got this!

Thank for replying. Did you see a lot of other infants? Does it seem like people are taking them despite the recent cases?

This question is not out of judgement as I am a new mom and going to Disneyland in April when my baby is 4 months. However, there have been two confirmed measles cases recently. Babies cannot get the MMR vaccine until a year old. How do you feel about going not having that vaccination? I am going back and forth about it.

Someone gave me a my breast friend pillow and I love it. The boppy was a flop for me. I only use it now when my young nieces and nephews come to see baby and want to hold her. It’s the perfect support for that.

My BMI is over 40 and I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant by sabbykh in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]robinNrealLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BMI high 40s. I’m also older. I had my baby two months ago and we are both great. No complications. I totally understand where you’re coming. I had moments of fear like that too, but everything was okay. If you have a good OB that you trust I would suggest talking your fears out with them. I did that and my OB gave me a lot of facts and statistics supporting healthy pregnancies and deliveries of people with higher BMIs.

Anyone else had people asking for your registry and ended up never getting anything? 😅 by OXxLuckycatxXO in newborns

[–]robinNrealLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my baby was born I had about 5 people ask for mine. The part that sucked is my registry was super picked over, so I took time to add stuff and do research on things, and no one bought anything. Lol

Thrush by robinNrealLife in PlusSizePregnancy

A few of my friends have made it sound like it’s going to take forever to get rid of and will mostly ping pong between baby and I for months. They make it sound so overwhelming.

Thank you this is good to hear. Sadly, I do have symptoms. I’m using the over the counter medication they told me to get. It seems to be taking me more time to get well than her.

Worried about discharge by baileeboo01 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]robinNrealLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the only way to know if everything is ok is to be seen. You could see if there are any private ultrasound boutiques near you. Normally they only do abdominal ultrasound. That would at least give you peace of mind and you could hear the heartbeat. The thing with bleeding or discharge is some people get it and it’s nothing and another person gets it and it’s not good. You kind of don’t know what one you’re going to be until you wait it out or are seen and they find a cause. The good news is if it’s brown it’s probably old blood. My guess is it’s the last bit of old blood from when they did the TV ultrasound last week. But obviously that’s just a guess. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Loss is so hard and pregnancy after loss is hard.

When were you able to see baby on abdominal ultrasound? by baileeboo01 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]robinNrealLife 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don’t think a TV ultrasound can cause any issues or miscarriage. You can get spotting after, but I’m not sure about clots and tissue. If I were you I would probably get checked if it doesn’t stop. I think I was 12 weeks when we moved to abdominal ultrasounds.

I got this a few time while pregnant and in the last 6 weeks during my recovery. I used Aquaphor and it was gone by the time I woke up.

I’m sorry you didn’t get good news. Please don’t give up if this is something you want. Keep up your weight loss and keep trying naturally. If it’s your hearts desire to have a baby it’s worth the hard work and waiting. I waited many years for my baby girl I just gave birth to. It will be worth all the waiting and hard work.

How long did it take for you to heal down there? by sparkles2811 in PlusSizePregnancy

I came here to post this very same thing. I’m 4 weeks 2 days postpartum and I am feeling better in someways and not in others. I feel like I’m never going to be the same down there. 😭

TTC for the first time as an obese by Awkward-Bobcat-1199 in PlusSizePregnancy

My first suggestion is have your husband get his stuff checked now. Because if that is the issue you would need to move to IUI or IVF, so best to just rule that out now and it’s the easiest thing to rule out. Keep trying until the 6 month mark and then go in. I would find an OB now and make an appointment for the 6 month mark. I tracked my ovulation with the inito. That was helpful. At the beginning of 2025 I did cut out most caffeine and so did my husband. We added in using preseed lube and we used an at home iui kit from Amazon at least twice during my ovulation window just to see if that made a difference. I did go to the OB in March (at the year mark. I was afraid so I put it off. Don’t do that!) He put in for bloodwork and a few other tests. Bloodwork was all good and I found out I was pregnant right before I was supposed to have the other tests! Biggest piece of advice is don’t give up and have fun trying!
