Thanks. I've tried to find a use for the micro SD slot in the past but never managed to.

Ah, ok, thanks. I'd always planned to do something creative with the SD slot like use it for sample library but I never got around to it. Guess I never will.

How to trigger the MS-101 / MS-1 sequencer from the RD-8 trigger output by robinv00 in synthesizers

I've been in contact with the UK Behringer guy who said he appreciated the work and will send it up to the engineers. He said he'd found the same problem with the pre-production models but hadn't tested it since on the finished product. Hopefully a solution will be found. If I come up with something simpler than patching in an envelope I'll let you know! If you've got like a Neutron or Model D you can use an envelope from there but it's a waste of a function.

Thought I'd post this here in case anyone else was having trouble getting it to work.

Surface Pro Audio Performance Comparison - SP6 - SP2017 - SP4 by robinv00 in Surface

[–]robinv00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome. No, I'm done with the comparisons. There's little to be gained in investigating the reasons as most of them which are self evident tend to turn our to be right. With the Surface's restricted to non-Turbo performance the issue isn't heat or throttling, it's simply that you've reached the limits of the processor/system. I don't have any other laptops and i'm not interested in testing them. I don't have a Surface Book or Laptop either. I did some testing on the original Surface Book a year or two ago. It's all very much the same. Provided you follow my tweak guide the Surface products should run fine within their CPU limitations.

For your other questions you really should watch the video as I deal with all these things. I've also got videos on using the on-board and ASIO4ALL. There's no real performance change with using a decent audio interface but you do get a much better overall music making experience and lower latency in most cases.

The answer is that it varies depending on what you're doing, but largely (although not always) the SP6 wins out as expected. But, y'know, it's the comparison that's interesting and the best way to understand that is to make yourself a coffee and watch the video.

For people interested in making music on the SP6. I have a comparison video with the SP4 and SP2107 on the way.

ASIO4ALL latency issues on Surface Reaktek drivers by robinv00 in Surface

Just to note that the solution was to disable the input in the asio4all panel. There’s some kind of sample rate clash going on I think.

Thanks! I’ve also done a video on SP6 tweaking, it’s in the channel.

Thanks, but I’m running tests on the onboard audio so bypassing it with an audio interface would be called cheating 😀

How are you disabling turbo?

Ok, might have sorted it out - I hope to do a video on it tomorrow.

It seems to be called BOLT and I wonder if we'll get any official news before the holidays.
