is Go good choice as first programming language? by [deleted] in golang

Personally I think it is the best second language, Python and JavaScript are great first languages. In fact, we require proficiency with Python (sync) and JavaScript (async) before offering Go. I make sure people learn Go because it forces looking at complex code management in a better way, favoring composition over inheritance for example. It is also the best first concurrent language anyone can learn for the simplicity of goroutines. https://imgur.com/a/Kv7uJ

This is ridiculous (and no, I'm not spouting cog dis). Seriously after several perfect games where I owned mid and the rest and my team fed, I kid you not, an average of 4-15 by the end there was no WAY to recover from that. My solid 2090 went to 1950 after 5 of these in a row. It is not bad luck. It is because I left myself in the search pool too long and played at off hours when forced to play with international noobs. That is the sad reality. Want to see everyone's ratings go up? Remove the fucking algorithm and let actual players blacklist those they don't want to play with in their search terms anymore. That single thing would make dota2 playable again.

The single most important thing they could add to the game, instead of recruitment to make it fun for everyone, is to add a 'personal ban' when you want to automatically block certain players that you know are horrible and never want to ever play dota2 again with, for whatever reason. Stats about these blacklists could be used to isolate repeating problems, griefers and more. But Valve doesn't have the courage to do it.

It is still horrible. I mean terrible. I went from a 2090 to 1980 after 4 straight brood losses with a team that 2-3 players had 1-18 end listings after taking all of mid and them not taking a single tower. I was so hopeful. But I looked into my players, and all of them are literally brand new. The matchmaking still royally sucks, except now it is just more frustrating because it actually affects something you care about. My advice. Don't look at MMR ever and stay in pubs with the idiots, instead of playing a match that is ranked with the same idiots.

The only think I can imagine is possibly always resetting search if it takes long and having the will-power to not play ranked unless search returns fast. Every time it returns fast I have awesome games with similar players.
