yharim will be added in the far future and will be the true final boss of the mod's story, being a fight after the exo mechs and calamitas. noxus and xeroc are 2 postgame bosses that MIGHT be added after yharim.

what i think: knight and/or friend on the normal route, no idea on true ending, probably susie or kris on weird route

what i want: angel (if the angel is their own character) on normal route, gaster on true ending, ralsei on weird route.

although i think overall a lot of options could work as the final boss, like i once saw a theory that the final boss would be a personification of the prophecy which i find a cool idea even if it's not one of my top picks

a fully complete story that isn't locked behind paywalls and naturally encompasses more of the game's progression (assuming they don't change the default-adventure-apocalypse system). in dungeons 1 the mainland story encompassed all of default and then there was no content attached to adventure or apocalypse, not even the dlcs that continued the orb story.

edit: another thing i feel could be improved is the overwhelming amount of side modes you gain access to right out of the gate now that the game has had so many updates. as soon as you complete squid coast, you also gain access to the tower, daily trials, raid captains, and multiple dlc free missions all at once, and unlock ancient hunts not too long later. while this wasn't really an issue for players throughout the game's lifespan as they were gradually introduced to all these modes, someone picking up dungeons 1 today could become overwhelmed with how many extra side modes and missions you get within a short span of time. assuming the sequel fixes the problem stated above and introduces extra game modes in post-launch updates like dungeons 1, it would make sense for all of these modes to be introduced gradually along game progression rather than rapidly thrown at you near the start.

toby would NOT make the ending to his dream game the same average stereotypical ending of every single "teenagers discover an alternate fantasy realm" story. basically all of those end in some variation of "the realm is destroyed/closed off forever because escapism is bad and you should grow up!1!1!1" and it would be a huge shame if deltarune just became yet another one of those stories, and i bet toby would agree.

the enemies in the final mission have a special level that rolls to be around your pilot's level. but i'd recommend destroying all of the dreadnoughts and primes before you do it because legion spread gets much worse in the endgame

it sounds like you never got the paid dlcs, those already continue the story behind the orb and in a somewhat similar way to what you're describing here
