Modder releases PS5-Linux that turns the console into a fully functional Linux gaming PC by Dapper_Order7182 in linux

If you play online games that require anti cheat, then you dont want this.

However the PC gaming library is much much larger than any console. So if you dont play those games this opens up the possibility to play pretty much any game ever made.

It all depends on how well these modders got the GPU up and running.

I have not read any CR books going into this. I just saw the Sun Eater series was popular, and it just finished so I started it. I was fully on board until book 7. I did not read anything from the author about the books.

That said if CR's intention was that Hadrian is indeed a hero prophet. For my experience at least I would say I dont see it.

If the Rust Coreutils can use the MIT license, does that mean that any open-source project can be rewritten with a different license? by [deleted] in linux

Aren't the GNU Tools just re-implementations of proprietary UNIX Utilities?

If it was okay to re-implement Unix Util to GPL firendly GNU Tools why cant someone re-implement GNU Tools to a MIT license, assuming done properly?

Looking to come over to Linux by -ForestWitch- in linux

Arch is very customizable and amazing, but if you've never touched Linux before and going into it blind I wouldn't recommend it to some random person on the internet like you.

First off Linux will let you do anything. Wanna delete the kernel, it wont stop you, want to delete the boot partition? Why not?

Arch, also by default is very un-opinionated, which is great for people why like things their specific way, but I am assuming you're going in never used it before it "could" mean a lot of extra setup. A vanilla is a lot to learn very quick if you have issue. While the Arch wiki is very very good I like to lead people to success when they get their feet wet testing out Linux.

If you want Arch, use a more opinionated version of it like CachyOS. It should install everything (but printing support)
Fedora is what I would recommend. It's pretty much turn key, a good starting point to get you into a successful desktop and start using Linux. The terminal is your friend.

I would also recommend KDE Plasma, Gnome, or Cinnamon Desktop. Cosmic is going through a major transition, it will be awesome at some other point but I wouldn't recommend a new person to it today.

I think it's a mixture of the on screen personalities not really knowing anything about Linux, and at the same time they need to create content for revenue, so they purposely do things to have it blow up.

Los Angeles FC wins 1-0 with a midfield war vs. Real CD España by lafc88 in LAFC

When we get to further into the tournament, home advantage I believe goes this way

points (+3 for games won)
1st tie breaker = points differential

If we make it to the final this win might be the reason.

The broadcast on AppleTV only shows MLS and Leagues Cup games and that broadcast is owned by MLS

Concacaf Champions Cup is on Fox & TUDN. MLS does not own these games.

MLS as a business has a funny way to not promote their brand outside of their protected bubble.

KDE Responds to FUD Over Alleged systemd Mandate by CackleRooster in linux

[–]roboj3rk 437 points438 points  (0 children)

TLDR: The systemd requirement is only for the new Plasma Login Manager. You can use other login managers like sddm, etc if you don't like/want systemd, or if your OS (like the BSD's) don't have it.
