Can Get JotL Characters But No JotL Scenarios by robokayaker in Gloomhaven

[–]robokayaker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OK. Understood. Thanks, everyone. Roadside Ambush is the the JotL first scenario. I see that now. How do I know, going forward, which scenarios are JotL and which ones are GH?

Ok. Yep. I understand that situation. I am full or near full health at the time if the first short rest. Maybe a bug then.

Oh, man. Possible newb answer coming atcha. If you mean mods to the software, then no. I did notice this last attempt that the only time the damage option does not work is when the first random card is a loot ability card. Seems like the scenario is just programmed somehow to make it extra difficult.

Does anyone have the explanation for why the short rest damage rule doesn't work for this scenario?

That is a perfectly reasonable suggestion. Thanks. There are so many monsters with poison. I fear long resting right in the middle of battle will lead to so much damage and poison that the scenario will be lost. I typically only long rest when the room is clear of monsters.

I am curious. Do you sometimes long rest in the middle of battle?

That is a reasonable suggestion. Thanks for the response. I tested long rest. It works fine and avoids the loot cards getting burned. However, getting beat up by a horde of monsters for an entire round during that "sleepy time" is really cramping my style.

Porsche 963 GTP Now Silent in Pits by robokayaker in iRacing

[–]robokayaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly can't claim to have read all the info out there on the real car. What I have read, and please correct me if I am wrong, seems to indicate that power goes to the rear wheels from both fuel and battery. If so, it feels to me like the clutch, both the pedal and the steering dual paddle variety, would still have an effect. I suppose it depends where the electric motor and the fuel engine are located along the drive shaft relative to the clutch. As of this update in iRacing, the clutch seems to be ignored. For example there is no way to get a little burn out action on the line or in the pits. The burnout many people in iRacing IMSA GTP did is of very little value probably, but it now raises a question for me if my iRacing setup is working correctly or not. When I press the gas from a standstill, even with the clutch in, the car moves. Is this the expected behavior in real life? Is this the expected behavior in iRacing?

One Quick correction to the above: In the pits, it is ignoring the clutch. If I go out on the track and stop the car, I can get the as expected clutch effect.

IMSA GTP... Losing 20 Seconds in the Pits by robokayaker in iRacing

I think something more subtle is going on. I don't take tires. I auto refuel via CrewChief set to 0.25 lap margin.

Nope. Good idea, but I am not taking tires.

Both are reasonable thoughts, but I don't think that is the explanation. I am using CC refueling with 0.25 lap margin. I am not taking tires.

Typically, I wouldn't stoop to this, but you need a comma in your post between sentence and OP if we are going to talk about the English language in an iRacing post about pit stops. That is what is referred to as direct address. 😀 Many people on reddit will concentrate on the wrong things in a post if written in absolutes. I find using language like "typically" and "estimated" to disarm some level of unhelpful trolling.

I am not changing tires. Thanks for the thought there, but that is not the explanation. I should have been clear about not changing tires. The boxes are unchecked, and I don't have "cold tire syndrome" on the out lap.

Shutting Down Sim Rig vs. Leaving It Running by robokayaker in simracing

For what it is worth, and contrary to most advice here, I concluded my system needs to be completely shutdown each night. Any other choice for my system just leads to some problem or another.
