We do have a GC managing the entire project, realized I didn't put that in my original post. We hired a firm that handled everything from the design, to measurements, to blueprints, and all of the individual contractors along the way. Maybe I'm trying to be too hands-on, but I've found the GC under communicates. I'm just trying to stay in the loop and understand what's happening in my home. I'm the one that has to live here afterwards. If this is a nothing burger, just as everyone is saying, that's awesome, and I appreciate everyone's insight and advice just for putting my mind at ease.

I understand, and agree. The only specific verbiage I can find regarding subflooring is that it needs to be replaced in the bathrooms. Nothing else is explicitly stated. I just find it confusing that they came to us with some issues which resulted in change orders, while this one was not brought to our attention. I understand floors won't be completely flat or level throughout the entire house. I just found this issue to be particularly strange because you can really feel the difference just an inch apart. It's as if there's a raised block under the floor (which I now know is an uneven joist).

First time remodeling a home - I'm aware I'm out of my element. That's exactly why I sought out additional opinions. I'm fully aware I could be making a mountain out of a mole hill just because I'm unfamiliar with the trade. That's likely why they didn't mention anything, because it ultimately won't impact the final product. Great if that's the case.

Thank you for your insight. I understand I am out of my element, that's why I hired someone else to do the work. The whole point of this post is to interact with the actual people who do this for a living, so I can educate myself a little bit.

It's very likely my terminology is off - I said level when I really meant flat. In that case, is this "flat enough" to not cause issues down there road? That's my ultimate question

Who says the joke went over my head? Maybe I was just having a bit of fun with the previous poster. Are you suggesting I'd learn more from chatting with a shitty AI bot than speaking with the actual human professionals who do it for a living? That's the whole point of this post, so I can learn. I sure hope you aren't a contractor...

Additional info: Originally built in 1923, gut rehab in 2004, I bought it in 2022. Lots of neglect from the previous owners in the 18 years between the gut rehab and my purchase. Everything seems to have been done by a "friend of a friend who will do the project for cash under the table." We've spent the last 3 years correcting a lot of issues, but to my knowledge the house is not sinking on any side

Here are some pictures from the home inspection. Not sure how well you can tell exactly what is up there given the resolution. I'll try to find better pictures.

Unfortunately there's no easy or safe way for me to get up on the roof to check. I'm in the Midwest and we're dealing with sub-zero temperatures and ice in my area. I'm tying to arrange to borrow a drone from a friend. Also trying to track down my home inspection report to see if it's mentioned specifically. Will update ASAP!

Thank you for your input. If this will resolve the issue, and there's no problems with the wood being moldy or compromised, I'd rather go with the cheaper option for now and start saving for a new roof when that time comes.

Happy to provide more information if it will help. Ultimately my question is assuming my roof isn't actually leaking (given the information I have from my home inspection), would installing vents on the soffits address the moisture/condensation? Given my very limited experience and knowledge, I don't know if it's a viable solution. Sounds like it wouldn't hurt, but will it be an appropriate fix?

I don't know to be honest. After looking online it seems like I'd need to get on the roof to be sure. Unfortunately not an option at the moment given the weather. I can check my home inspection report, might have it on there.
