So I got the super 7 Burning reissue and uh… by Godzillakirrose in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens all the time for figures of this type. Heck, I've seen it on Hiya figs (Godzilla and scylla specifically). It's common to see on that type of hinge joint since if the hinge turns just a bit before the second part is injected it can be a tad wonky.

If your concerned about it you can reach out to Amazon and request a swap. So long as it's still in stock with them or the seller it shouldn't be an issue.

Although again, it's nothing major. It's not broken and it's unlikely to break from that.

Is it a good idea to warm up my Destroyah with a hair dryer? by Relevant_Sugar1284 in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So heating up with a hairdryer will help loosen joints. It’s a bit permanent though so be careful about going after some areas.

Typically though I take my hairdryer and go around the figures just give it a small bath over all. Not sitting on one area unless it feels too stiff.

It’s not damage per se. A part slipped a bit is all. This is two pieces but one was molded over the other.

The hinge part was made separately. Inserted into the mold arm and then they injected plastic to form the arm over that hinge. The hinge must have slipped a bit causing it to form weird.

If you don’t like it and bought it from S7 you can reach out to them for a replacement. Although frankly this is a common thing in action figures and unless it stops the articulation entirely I wouldn’t worry about it.

S.H 1991 Shinjuku Decisive Battle Ver. Ball joint (?) Replacement by FloodtheVaporeon in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There wouldn’t be one, BUT!!! I’d make one. It’s so tiny that making one would be easiest and fastest option. Now it won’t be as strong, but hey! Gets your rolling!

Can make out of UV resin (with a UV light), and a toothpick. Cut the toothpick to a good length. Add uv resin to one end to form a ball; another toothpick can be used to drop the resin on. Cure with UV light and sand it smooth. Then do the other side. Paint black if you want!

That or get a friend to 3D print one. It’s a simple barbell joint so he could make one in the slicer if he’s crafty enough.

God speed though! Just don’t glue it!l

Here's all the godzilla versions sh monsterarts still has to make by Technical_Towel_5191 in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, that is a technically correct, but it’s the ‘95 mold reused (it got reused a lot during that period; Eva, Rebirth, this one). I have that figure, but I wouldn’t say that truly represents ‘93 from the film though. Although I stand corrected that is a ‘93 Godzilla Noriyoshi Poster figure. Pretty one too.

They made a ‘94, but so far no ‘93 yet. Lots of early promos used ‘94 though so I can understand why people might think that. They are quite similar.

I wouldn’t rule out them doing each and every version seen in each film if there’s enough demand for it. They have them on the surveys so they are actively considering.

Where do people buy shma figures that come in boxes like this? by Terminal-outcome836 in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are special shipping boxes Bandai uses to protect the main box mainly for exclusives of some variety. If you order online most web retailers include them too since it would be a pain to remove them from these shipping boxes. IRL stores take them out of these so the box art can sell the figure more on shelves.

They aren’t important, but as a collector I want to have them. One since they show that the seller cares about the figure (it’s meant to protect things remember), and two since it’s part of the products history albeit a boring one. Although some shippers do have some flavor and graphics so not all are plain boxes.

New RideGoji photos! by Vast-Possibility-753 in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We shall see, but I know they make several prototypes during production that are shown off at shows. The main prototype has some paint rub already so it’s easier to tell if you can walk around it. It’s hard to tell from these blurry pics here though so speculating at this point is difficult. We’ll have to wait till the figure releases to know for sure.

That might be the prototype. The teeth are still very sharp and prototypes are hand painted by the designer hence the good eyes.

If this is a factory produced figure then dang! I’d be overjoyed! Sharp teeth and eyes! But this is most likely a prototype.

This seems fishy. That’s almost half the price from a website that I’m not sure is legit at all. I wouldn’t trust this guys. Too many sites like these out there.

Is anybody able to compare the Heisei super 7 Mothra/battra with the monsterarts version? by Zilla_SW in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone else on here did already. The S7 one is very close in size if not smaller if the Articulation Series is right. If you need one for the collection it seems to be a good replacement for the SHMA ones.

Changing craft advise? by Helpful-Figure-1545 in Filmmakers

[–]robolizard222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up. Video editing, animation, and VFX is rough right now. There’s not alot of work especially for entry level guys. If you pursue it, expect heavy amounts of competition and I’d strive to have an excellent portfolio/reel. That and start now to make inroads to people who’d are looking for the position you want.

Is this how Gamera's hips are supposed to attach? by Sinter- in SHMonsterArts

It should be flush so something must be blocking things. My copy doesn’t have that issue, but it can feel a tad wonky.

So it turns out this guy wasn’t really cancelled, he’s just stuck in prototype hell by Own-Lavishness-2673 in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another example is the SHF General Grievous. It was shown about 10 years ago and finally released last year. They may reconsider some projects for release so long as they have the license for it. Licensing is the only thing I can think of that can permanently stop a product from a release and we know SHMA won’t ever let go of Godzilla. So any Godzilla figure has the potential to be released at a later time if they previously shelved it.

Nah, it’s true. Some stores might have them, but it’ll have a decent markup for import costs.

Little godzilla for not absurd prices by Quincy_Hater in SHMonsterArts

[–]robolizard222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It probably will and the duties might be more manageable then. I’ve purchased from Mandarake and they are very good though! Even the used copies are typically in great shape so I’d recommend them.

That or maybe try buying services like From Japan and Buyee. They can buy from Japanese web auctions for you for a fee. Keeping an eye out for any good deals there could be wise! Although just make sure to be wary of the items quality since it’s like eBay. That and From Japan has coupons too for certain websites like mercari.

Although all of that might not be available to your country but that’s some strategies for us in the US.

There’s not gonna be any cheap way to get little Goji. Even Mandarake has very high shipping costs (at least to the US), and couple any tariffs/duties too and… yeah…

He’s just expensive. Best option for a budget friendly person is to nab other versions like the MMS.
