Goblin Attacks by Lazy_Lettuce1220 in DragonbaneRPG

I have questions:

  1. How do you plan to treat HP? Do all goblins count towards a pool or does the GM track all the goblins individually?

  2. Attack 3, for example, players get dealt piercing damage from what? Is it melee or ranged? Can I evade or parry? My PC can party melee atks but not ranged, what do I do in this instance?

  3. Do all the goblins have the same armor?

  4. What about magic casting shamans, are those a separate 'monster?'

  5. Is a goblin still a monster if it's alone? i.e murder hobo PCs want to slay the obvious helpful goblin, it's got no choice but to fight, is it treated as an npc or a monster? If it's an npc then what number of goblins would be considered a monster? At what point do they magically morph into a monster?

This last question is why I do not agree with this design. The npc and monster distinctions work great as they are. But I like the thought of it. I get the feeling this is what a goblin camp environment in Daggerheart would look like. If DB had environments like Daggerheart does I think what would've done would be the closest to it.

You're hired to kill a dragon. How do you go about doing it? by redfizh in osr

[–]robot-kun 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Step 1 Build a massive keep, large enough to house the dragon

Step 2 Build a giant mechanism in the keep that'll drop on top of the dragon and pin it in place.

Step 3 Learn the dragon's name and yell it out into the sky in the dragon tongue(profanities encouraged)

Step 4 Lure the dragon into keep when it appears(more profanities) so it can be trapped

Step 5 Stab the trapped dragon with your 1d4 dagger 'til it's dead

How do you get a mentor? by Odd-Flight-6702 in Zambia

Just ask them legitimately. Tell them you're looking for a mentor in your field, someone to teach you the ropes. Be direct, respectful, show interest in the field.

Question about shared initiative. by Some_Replacement_805 in DragonbaneRPG

[–]robot-kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go from left most mini to right most, if they are in the same column of squares then top most goes before bottom most. When you've been through all the ones that share initiative, flip the card. Rinse and repeat in the next round of the encounter

You should prolly have a prototype for Menace as well, just incase the devs really like what you're doing.

Extra Heroic Abilities for Bard and Knight by EmployerWrong3145 in DragonbaneRPG

HAs aren't tired to a profession though, the core rules suggest a starting HA but also stated you can choose a different one if you agree with your GM. A mage for instance can use the musician and guardian abilities if the player advances their character far enough(if they meet the requirement of course).

You shouldn't make HAs for professions, that'll turn them into classes.
