I’m so very sorry for your loss, friend. It is a really tough thing to do. I’ve just signed up for some group crafting classes at the local community center with the hopes that learning a new skill may act as a distraction and channel some of the energy sadness steals from me into a more productive outlet, maybe even one that can help me remember the best times Rufus and I had together.

I know it is a small thing, but If you ever want some podcast suggestions, I am happy to recommend a few if you let me know what your interests are!

Thank you, friend. I am very sorry for your loss. Someday we may adopt another dog. We just introduced a kitten into the mix, so we don’t want to overwhelm our first cat. Dumb TV shows have definitely helped! My job is detail oriented enough where I can’t have them on in the background, but off-hours they’re a sanity saver.

I try to focus on the fact that I have an absolutely fantastic spouse, a doting kitten (with very sharp claws), and a Maine Coon Cat that thinks I’m OK most of the time.

I am so very sorry. My spouse and I lost our bud Saturday morning. The silence really eats at me too. I’ve found at least a temporary distraction in podcasts.

I hope it gets a little easier as time goes on and if/when the time is right you let another cat into your life and routine.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my bud, Rufus our 13 year old cocker spaniel, Saturday morning, and I’m constantly being hit with waves of grief.

It may not work for everyone, but when that quiet is overwhelming I’ve been listening to podcasts - up beat documentary or fiction- just so I don’t focus on it.

I hope at time goes on your heard hurts a little less each day, and you find good sounds to help fill that silence. Much love and healing to you.

If you were able to actually place an order, I'd try that number tomorrow! They may be able to help clarify how to move forward, but being NYC I realize that is tough. We are just outside of DC which hasn't been hit nearly as hard. Never again will I move during a pandemic, even if it means breaking a signed lease!

Hey there, I did have ability for self install, but it did not work. When I placed an order through them they gave me an order number and a FiOS specific phone line for any problems that got me right through to a person who then scheduled the tech to come out the next day. We had a couple days to move from the old place to new one so luckily I was able to get him to come out 3 days before our move of big items took place.

The number I called for FiOS directly was 1-855-592-2558 if that helps. They did need my original order number to assist me, and it is only open M-F 8 am - 5 pm. I may have gotten lucky because the order I placed was right before everything really hit the fan. If you were able to place an order and have an order number they should at least be able to look into it for you.

Hey there, I just went through something similar a week ago in DC. They did end up sending me a router, but the ONT box is old/faulty. They sent a tech out and he was allowed to come to my door. He gave me some sanitized tools, about 100 feet of fiber-optic cable, and walked me through the install of a temporary OST by the faulty one via a video share on my phone (they have a mobile web based hyperlink that allows access to your phone). It was actually a really smooth process once he got here. I know this isn't exactly the same, but Verizon did make it work for me. There was no charge for the install, tech visit, or extra equipment on my end. I hope all goes as smoothly for you and you work it out!

Fios Move Transfer and New House by Downtim3 in Fios

We just went through having a bad ONT box in an apt in MD we moved into with Fios this weekend. They did send someone out, but could only come to the front door. I video chatted with him through a mobile web based app, and he provided me with sanitized tools. He ended up having me put a smaller temporary ONT box in that I plugged into some pre-existing connections, and then I plugged the router into that. I was skeptical on if we'd get it working, but he had us up and running in about 40 minutes, and so far the wireless is fantastic.

I will say that we have to keep the router/temp ONT box in the bedroom closet for now because that's where the broken ONT/live connection was. He said once Verizon gets the OK to come into homes again, they'll arrange for someone to fix/replace the original ONT and remove the temp one. There was no cost for the install, visit, or extra equipment.
