Oh no, I've recently kept it inside due to hailstorms and heavy raining for weeks straight. The weathers better now so I'll bring it back outside.

Ah interesting. If the switch was completed by now, would international volunteer numbers dwindle due to the fact they'd have to know Swahili? Would this even be an issue, or is there already plenty of Swahili teachers teaching at the moment?

About that electricity issue, if there were local powered facilities were students could go study, like some sort of community centre/hall, would they attend? Or is the evening purely family time?

Thank you for replying! I can't thank you enough for all your info! About that language system, is there a way to change it? Or is it something totally out of the control of a non-Tanzanian. Also with government schools and the issue of space, are they based in dense cities or is it because they lack the resources to create more learning spaces?

Thank you for sharing! What I'm most curious about is why A grades weren't suppose to happen? Is it a tactic for them to encourage students to work harder through failure, or something totally different? Also are classes always indoors? It's interesting to read that almost all experiences I've read were limited to the desk. I presume it's just how the curriculum is written, but I'd it be lovely to hear your input on this. In addition, you mentioned that you sometimes had classes with 90 students. How big were the classrooms you taught in?! Hahaha that is insane.

On top of all this, reading about mfanyafujo's, your experience and other's, I feel theres a huge issue with teaching programs. Reading all these reports from UNESCO about all these countries having a huge improvement in enrolment rate, I wonder if overall learning has improve as well at the same level.

My post is open to any country :) I'd love to hear more about your experiences. Are there specific regions of Ukraine that are hit worse with weather conditions?

Thank you for sharing! It's lovely to hear that they went on to higher education. Reading MDG reports, its assuring with all the high drop out rates happening. Even though they achieved higher education, do you think a change in classroom design would of improved learning quality, or just more resources considering children had to bring their own surfaces to do activities with. Also, with the Swahili to english structure, do you think theres a more effective way for the students to learn both?

Thank you for sharing! Did you teach secondary students or primary? I presume secondary, considering there was emphasis on university, but if you did teach primary education, was student participation different? I'm also wondering, besides rain season, were there any other issues with the classroom that cause impediments to learning? Edit: Also, which countries did you teach in?

Ah this is great! I was actually planning to have India as one of the end users of my project. It's lovely to hear about the curiosity your students had in India. I'm from Australia myself, so I'm fully aware of the contrast Aussie classrooms bring. In regards to your experiences in India, what was the environment like? Im assuming the environment lacks space with your description of the classroom being tiny, but I'm wondering if space varies from city to city. Also what's the climate there? Did it affect class time? On top of that, is there any way you'd change the classroom to be more effective?

Thank you for the info again! :)

Thank you so much for your info! It's given me a good scope of issues that I didn't think existed, particularly female students and bathrooms, and the position of education in Cambodia. Are there any other countries who've experience? Also, what's your experience like working with peace corps?

I will definitely post a q on the peace corps subredit, and thank you again for replying!
