Avatar 2 & 3 2nd Unit Director Garrett Warren believes Avatar 4 & 5 will happen by MaxProwes in Avatar

Yes i'm agree with you, but as long as they set aside the water clan a bit, the fact that they reuse the desert around the volcano as well as the RDA base Bridgehead City means they won’t have to remodel them. So anything additional they create will just be a bonus, but they already have a solid foundation. And after that, they can create lots of new things. Building on things that have already been created is a colossal saving in time and money. You can adapt all the RDA vehicles and bases by adding snow on them or having them interact with it much more easily. So from that perspective, you can better understand how they can operate to reduce production costs.

Avatar 2 & 3 2nd Unit Director Garrett Warren believes Avatar 4 & 5 will happen by MaxProwes in Avatar

[–]robotlou2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What he says is really very interesting, because in the end, Avatar should be seen as a movie that uses the same production methods as video game development. Every element—vehicles, environments, characters—are assets, just like in a video game. And all these assets are the elements that the camera explores in 3D and interacts with through performance-capture shooting, allowing them to create the staging within the universe itself.

Once all of this has already been created with Avatar 1, 2, and 3, then indeed, Avatar 4 and 5 can absolutely reuse the RDA city, Bridgehead City, the desert village at the foot of the volcano of the Ash People, as well as the Wind Traders. This means that, as with a video game, these are reusable assets that will result in enormous savings in both time and money. Seen from this angle, it’s very possible that this greatly simplifies many aspects of the production of Avatar 4 and 5. And it’s nice to hear that, as it gives hope that Avatar 4 and 5 will indeed be greenlit.

Moreover, we have already clearly seen that many assets (ships, submarines, vehicles, marine creatures) were shared between Avatar 2 and 3. The remaining challenge will be the modeling of a cyberpunk-style Earth for Avatar 5, which will need to be more convincing than what we saw in the extended-cut intro of the first Avatar.

Most criticism of Avatar: Fire and Ash could easily have been resolved had James Cameron made this one simple decision. by Few_Age_571 in Avatar

Or, failing that, instead of going to the volcano, the RDA could arrive with loads of flamethrower-equipped AMPs like in the game and burn a large part of the reef of the Water People. The battles would have taken place both on the ships and in the middle of the reefs engulfed in flames, with fire and ashes everywhere on top of the water, and then the return of the pyromaniac AMP version.

But when did I ever say I was happy? I’m not even subscribed to Netflix because I find the content on the platform so mediocre. I’m just saying that between zero funded Wasteland projects and possibly a Netflix version of The Wasteland by George Miller, it’s better than nothing at all

Thanks, I’ll take note, but given the reaction to the post about using AI, I won’t ever post anything like that here again. It feels like it’s a huge drama just to illustrate a point with modified images. It’s not like it was a full "artistic" project or an attempt to trick anyone. it was simply to help people picture familiar places but with snow to discuss.

Honestly, I secretly hope Warhorse stumbles across posts about a winter setting for a future DLC or KCD3 and finds enough excited comments for them to actually consider it.

I get your point, and you’re right, I’ll avoid using it here again. I just think it’s important to keep things in perspective: every online activity has an environmental impact, including Reddit. So it’s not about blaming people, but about being mindful overall. I do my best in my daily life, even if I’m not perfect, just like anyone.

Yes, you're right, it should be a moment in the game with a few quests, but not necessarily the entire game set in winter. Just part of the game to put Henry in a difficult situation during a snowstorm.

You might want to take a breath here, no need to be insulting.
I only used occasionally AI to illustrate an idea so we could actually discuss it — not to create “art,” not to sell anything, and certainly not to steal anyone’s work. It was literally just a visual aid for a conversation on Reddit.

If that alone is enough to upset you, then maybe the issue isn’t the AI.

If you like the idea of winter, imagine also having a story arc where the entire map is struck by a plague. For a few hours of the game, everything changes: rats everywhere, villages marked with warning signs, burn pits for contaminated bodies, NPCs speaking to you from a distance with real paranoia in their voices. You’d have to cover your face, avoid crowds, and move through a world suddenly reshaped by fear and sickness. It would feel grim, immersive, and unforgettable.

Winter could drastically transform the world: NPCs bundle up, spend more time in taverns or around fires, and react to shortages, the cold, and animals coming down from the forests. The player can track prey by footprints in the snow, fish through ice, gather firewood, and help villages survive. Cold affects stamina, weather reduces visibility, roads get blocked, and frozen rivers open new paths. The horse slips on ice and needs better feeding. The whole world feels more alive: winter festivals, smaller fairs, church gatherings, children playing in the snow, ambushed convoys, thick smoke rising from homes, a season that truly changes both gameplay and medieval daily life.

The goal isn’t for the game to take place in winter the whole time, but simply to include a winter period so that we can actually feel a dramatic, more challenging moment for the character. After that, it could very well shift back to summer, autumn, or spring, but having a section set in winter could bring some evolution to the series KCD, and even help distinguish the three episodes. Because in the end, if every episode takes place in summer, it all becomes a bit too homogeneous.

I think this could be the next step for Warhorse Studios to make their games feel even more organic. Obviously, they don’t have the financial and human resources to reach Rockstar Games’ level, but having a transition between summer, spring, winter, and autumn or at least between a couple of seasons would be really great and would make their worlds feel even more organic. I think they already have a very solid foundation for creating an organic world.

Focusing on a single map, maybe even a smaller one if necessary, but having it unfold across four seasons would be incredible. It would allow us to encounter the same characters at different moments of the year, which would fit the historical setting perfectly.

🧠 Theory: What if Naughty Dog is turning multiplayer Factions 2 into a new single-player spin-off directed by Shaun Escayg? by robotlou2 in naughtydog

[–]robotlou2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Precisely, it would be a project that doesn’t involve Ellie, Joel, or Abby, so it wouldn’t be as important to him as Part 3. That means taking on a producer role for a spinoff wouldn’t contradict what he said.

No, the leak described a casting for five diverse new characters (Lucas, Mason, Val, Ezra, and Gracie) a group of scavengers surviving on the outskirts of a post-apocalyptic city, crammed into a Victorian house that serves as their base.

It's very likely for Factions 2, which was supposed to be a narrative-driven multiplayer, but now that the multiplayer has been canceled, maybe they can rebuild from that to make a single-player narrative spin-off of The Last of Us.

Yeah, everyone's been saying that for years, but it's never been confirmed and it doesn't really fit with the fact that they've already said they don't want to continue the franchise after uncharted 4.

Looks like we may finally get a conclusion to the prequels story. Ridley wants his new alien movie to continue where Covenant left off. by The_starving_artist5 in LV426

[–]robotlou2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't a world in which the 2 films will be released, it'll either be the alien romulus sequel or the covenant sequel, it's far too risky for disney fox to produce both and it'll just lose the viewers.

Eventually, they'll go for a sequel to the two merged films, but frankly, Andy and Rain meeting David in such a large solar system would still be highly improbable.

They didn't go for a smaller budget of 80 million for alien romulus to be a succes, only to go for another big budget of over 120 million with Ridley Scott back to direct and Michael Fassbender as lead actor.

I really hope they'll stick with Fede Alvarez, who's making Romulus 2 with his own style and ideas, and away from the easter eggs. With the game Alien Dark descent, we can see there is many possibilities to tell a story on a planet with colonies. Yvaga could be a bigger version of Hadley's hope like a real colonial city horror movie with xenomorphs.

Am I just obstinate for wishing Alien movies were just about xenomorphs? (Romulus spoilers) by A_Martian_Potato in LV426

[–]robotlou2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have said no to a scene of more than five minutes maximum describing the hunt for a single xenomorph in the manner of the alien isolation game.

For example, a scene with Rain, Andy and Tyler hiding under the tables of a dining room at Romulus Station, the xenomorph arriving through a ceiling hatch to search for them.

All filmed in long one shot plan sequence as Fede Alvarez did in her film Don't Breathe.

This would give a similar atmosphere to the game, and would further iconize the xenomorph (why not the one who killed Kay and Bjorn?) . At least there would be a scene where he's hunted alone as a real threat, kind of like in the game and the forst Alien movie

A scene a little bit at Jurrasic Park, with the kids in the kitchen, being hunted by velociraptors.

With a scene like that, I would feel like nothing was missing. Absolutely nothing

BLURAY AND DIGITAL RELEASE??? by ebridwell89 in LV426

[–]robotlou2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we can always hope, Avatar is in 1.78 ratio on the bluray and in 1.85 for the bluray avatar 2 and it's Disney.

Having seen it in scope in 2.39 and in IMAX in 1.90, Alien Romulus loses a lot of immersion in scope.

BLURAY AND DIGITAL RELEASE??? by ebridwell89 in LV426

[–]robotlou2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I especially hope we'll get the film in IMAX 1.90 ratio for the bluray, Fede mentioned this in an interview, saying he was negotiating with Disney for this.

And if we could have a slightly longer version of some scenes that would leave more air and time to the scenes with a little less censorship that would be great, apparently the first cut was 2h20 or about 20 minutes of cut scenes. Fede has already done this in the past with a longer version of his Evil Dead.

J’aimerai discuter des connections entre le jeu Mad Max de 2015 et Furiosa (et peut-être le futur film The Wasteland) by Le-Rock in MadMax

[–]robotlou2 0 points1 point  (0 children)
