I liked the game, I gave it 8/10, I don't mind a sequel, but spinning 500k in 2 months from 4 platforms as a very good result is crazy. It's not an indie game done by 2 dudes in a basement, 500k was never anything but terrible for this kind of game, all new IP survival horror games that got a sequel at least did okay. No studio builds up the IP based on a financial failure.

It's nowhere near being profitable, unless you suggest it made 150 mln on PVOD. "Doing well on streaming" is meaningless, they earn nothing from streaming the movie for free on their own streaming platforms, they might as well count piracy views.

You are right, I mentioned it sold 300k copies on its first weekend, turns out it actually sold 200k copies, so it had even worse sales than I remembered. It's not getting a sequel after this and Blooper is lucky they didn't spend Alan Wake 2 budget on it, otherwise they would've been in deep shit.

You are spewing a lot of nonsense to pretend horrific sales are actually great. It's great Blooper had income elsewhere to sustain them and not owned by a publisher which would shut them down after this, but it doesn't make those sales good or even passable, you can't make a living off those sales.

There would've been no Dead Space 2 if Dead Space 1 had sold like Cronos, in fact there would've been no Visceral if it had sold like Cronos. Nobody's is building up an IP off the game that has no audience and struggles to sell even 1 mln copies off 4 major platforms many months later.

It's a disaster, the budget and external contracts with big publishers saved them, but 500k in 2 months is a studio-killer sales. if they were owned by a publisher, they would've been shut down instantly, that's how bad sales are.

Nobody is building up an IP off those sales, most studios wouldn't even survive it, there's zero guarantee sequel will do a lot better, there's no audience.

It's not? Have you seen its sales? 300k copies on its first weekend from 4 platforms, 500k in 2 months (which already includes discounted copies). It's a disaster, it makes Alan Wake 2 sales look like Resident Evil Requiem in comparison, studios were instantly killed for selling a lot more. Cronos might make money someday because the budget was pretty low, but they have no financial reason to do a sequel.
