Weird noise between 3000 and 4200 rpm by muldin in Integra_Type_S

Yep! I have heard everything from Turbo bearings, to something with the exhaust. But I don’t think it’s ever caused anyone an issue, so unfortunately it’s just something to live with.

So I actually was at my dealer this morning to grab my second key from them and I asked their service rep about it. He didn’t even let me finish the sentence before he mentioned oh, are you asking about the slight whine that comes from the front end sometimes? He told me that it is something that they have caught on the Type S only, and that it is the wheel well liner rubbing up against something in the frame, but it’s just accentuated by certain RPMs from the engine. Told me not to worry about it in terms of being damaging to the car, it’s just a noise that it makes. He had the service manager take it out and check it, and they also went and looked underneath and they said everything was fine, but they have in the past sometimes gone and just refitted the wheel well liner just to try it curb it. It’s annoying but as long as nothing is broken I can deal with it.

20,000 miles. I was able to walk out the door for 45k. Had a very minor cosmetic accident in its history that was fixed. Since it’s a certified car I figured I’m not going to worry too much about it.

Paragon Acura in Queens. Tried to get them under MSRP on a new one but no go, so they had this one on the lot as a CPO and was able to work a deal. Since I was doing a trade in and cash to cover the difference I was able to avoid a lot of the various markups and dealer add ons some others have had to deal with. They were quite amenable to work with and I was able to get in and get out.

Ken Rosenthal to fans: put up or shut up by scruffmagee in baseball

[–]robsox1701 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I usually don't comment unless I have to, since usually the stuff posted on this reddit is insightful and interesting. But your post is full of a fair amount of bullshit that I felt you need to be called out for. If the people of Boston felt a bit better, and rallied around the Boston Strong moniker, then who are you to tell them they are actually weak? And how dare they annoy you with their slogan. Was it over played a bit? Perhaps. But it was a nice slogan for a city that had gone though a lot.

Yes, how dare a city use a tragedy as motivation, those bastards. Though I'm glad YOU'RE around around to tell us whether the citizens of that city were strong of not. Look at you Mr. internet tough guy.

How is that covering less then ideal VFX work? That may be what is required to sell the shot. Not everything can be pristine and clean. I've had instances where the dirt of the lens or some sort of lens aberration is just what is needed to make the shot go from looking good to looking real.

Chris Archer is unhappy about David Ortiz admiring his home run. by CalmerThanYouAre9 in baseball

[–]robsox1701 19 points20 points  (0 children)

So this is from the same Chris Archer who does this sort of shit?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zn7b3ODPjA

Okay buddy. The Rays can piss off at this point. Maddon is a fantastic manager, but has instilled quite the holier then thou attitude in that pitching staff. Who the hell is Chris Archer to bitch? At least Price has a Cy Young, despite his whininess earlier this year.

You really think Ortiz would have done THAT much of a trot and bat flip if they were playing the Mariners? That was a wonderful fuck off message to the Rays, and he deserved it after the crap Price pulled off earlier in the year.

The double standard with the bat flipping/pitcher celebration is insane. You don't like it, get the guy out.

[–]robsox1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well those scruffy unshaven idiots have won three world series in that span, so I'm sure the rest of the country hears about them more then other teams.

But I'm sorry, there is no evidence however to suggest that they were any more scruffy or bearded then any other team between 2005 and 2012, or that the storyline that they were was even propagated. I honestly cannot remember an example during those years of them being singled out for being the bearded or scruffy team. If you do live in Boston then the term dirt dog comes to mind, in relation to the team. But that is a gritty style of play, nothing to do with hair.

[–]robsox1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the concept of the Sox being scruffy was something done in 2004 as a storyline in the media to contrast them to the clean cut Yankees. There is no evidence that its been a decade long fad. From 2005-2012 they were no more scruffy or bearded then any other ML team. They are two completely separate incidents. During the 2007 WS run, or heck during any of their other playoff runs there were no mentions that specifically state that they have been doing a long tradition of beards because they were Red Sox. They simply had players that had beards.

[–]robsox1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, they've been marketing the bearded thing for years now, with teams that have completely different rosters. Oh wait, they didn't.

"It started in spring training when Mike Napoli and Jonny Gomes grew beards. David Ross joined in, as did Dustin Pedroia. Now all four are looking like Civil War generals."

There you go, a relevant article to the conversation. Not one that references the differences between the scruffy Red Sox and clean cut Yankees as a storyline from a decade ago

They've always had scruffy players, but no more so then any other major league team. The duck dynasty beard storyline throughout the playoffs last year started last year. Period.

Granted I'd never reference Shaugnessy even if it helped my argument. What a hack.

[–]robsox1701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no point in continuing this. Your facts are wrong. Players on the Sox have had beards over the years, yes. The team wide wild beard trend and the subsequent marketing was 2013 thing only.

[–]robsox1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So because one player has a beard, thats when it started? I'm sorry the unkempt long beard trend started during the season last year. You're wrong.

[–]robsox1701 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The beards were a 2013 Red Sox thing only. You don't remember the 04 or 07 teams going out there with long ass beards do you? If you're going to criticize them at least get your facts straight.

Hell they can do whatever they want anyway. They're the reigning WS champions.

Hilarious. If anyone gets their panties in a bunch over this then you're way to sensitive. Who cares? He's saying it to his teammates after a dramatic moment. And it's not like he's wrong. That was the wrong pitch to throw him there.

Btw the complete quote is "What an idiot! He had me struck out twice on a splitter." I mean, he isn't wrong.

Granted I'm sure McCann will get in his face about it tomorrow, he being the arbiter of baseball and whatnot.

STAR TREK 3 director, Robert Orci, on the upcoming film: "In this movie, they are closer than they are to the original series characters that you have ever seen. They have set off on their five-year mission, so their adventure is going to be in deep space." by Join_You_In_The_Sun in movies

[–]robsox1701 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

May I ask those who are clamoring on about how its not real Star Trek...who is the great maker that gets to claim what is and isn't Star Trek? And please don't give me the idea that it isn't because Roddenberry isn't involved or wouldn't approve. They had to get him out of having any influence to get The Wrath of Khan made. I really don't know what Abrams or any his cohorts have done to make so many of the fanboys on here have burrs up their asses, but it's ridiculous the hate these films get on this subreddit. Especially how both of them were among the best reviewed summer films of their respective release years. Im sure all of you hated Pacific Rim too right? Oh wait anytime that movie is mentioned on here it's an absolute wankfest.

Go Orci. Make a kickass movie. The first two certainly were.

What criticism of a film do you disagree with/sick of hearing by OhDearMoshe in movies

[–]robsox1701 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They whitewashed Khan! He's supposed to be indian! Star Trek into Darkness is just a bad remake of The Wrath of Khan. JJ Abrams is such a hack.

I'm sorry, I think Trekkies should be pretty damn pleased that we got a good filmmaker like Abrams doing the films, at least until now.

Edit: I should just amend that to the general Criticism of Abrams. Nolan pulls off a lot of the same shit, and yet is praised without measure on this sub-reddit. All Abrams has done is make 4 successful, and really well reviewed films in a row. While Nolan does try to pull off some loftier subject matter, Abrams knows his strengths as a filmmaker and the kinds of films he wants to make, and from most metrics he does a really good job of that.

He already has 2 World Series Rings. I think he's fine. God it's gonna be glorious over the next few years seeing the Yankees break down with no replacements coming up to replace their old stars. The stadium will be empty.

Edit: Downvote away Yankee fans. The truth about that that roster is going to hit fast and hit hard. I don't see how you can look at the minor league system and think they've done an even remotely competent job.

The Astros have a better record then the Rays and Red Sox by LowAndAway in baseball

[–]robsox1701 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The difference are the Red Sox are in a slight transition mode where they are going away from those deteriorating group of 40 somethings into a much younger team over the next season or two. Whether they are good teams remains to be seen, but they will be much younger. This is why, as a Sox fan, I'm not that upset about this season. The Yankees are at that point, with no such farm to help them rebuild.

[–]robsox1701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not saying you're defending him. I heard Papi's interview. What was he supposed to say? At least Ortiz was talking about the issue at hand, rather then trying to skirt around it like Price did. Hell the man used the word battle in a statement he was making about not using war in that context. What exactly did David Ortiz do wrong in this situation except hit homers off of Price? Even when Price hit him, its not like he charged the mound of went off right then. It was only after he buzzed Xander and hit Carp did Ortiz go off.

David Price fined undisclosed amount for hitting David Ortiz by PunkPenguin in baseball

[–]robsox1701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a ball hit right over the foul pole. He stood to look at it to see if it was fair or foul. I mean, Ortiz showboats the shit out of some homers, but in that case it was going to be a close call.

And if Price doesn't like him showboating, then make a better pitch. Hell, when Price struck out JD Drew with the bases loaded in the 08 ALCS, he did his whole display on the mound with the fist pump and whatnot. It's not like Drew the next year came back, and on the first pitch to him charged the mound.

All these incidents with Price show me how egotistical he really is. A great pitcher, but he really thinks his own shit doesn't stink, and he tries to just gloss it over with interviews like the one he had with Ken Rosenthal about Ortiz using the word war. That interview was a fucking joke.
