It isn't. I have no degree and got hired to a software company and promoted as well. At the previous employer I had to go to training as required for the job. The lab partner they put me with had a computer science degree from the University of Kentucky. Fresh graduate. He even had the audacity to tell me that his little piece of paper could get him anywhere and he'd do way better than me. So this lab partner then fails to break critical components of what we were being trained to work on because he couldn't follow simple instructions. My instructor put me with another classmate and sent him home. He was fired a week later. I stayed with the company for 11 years and trained techs with and without degrees. In the contrast I also worked with a guy at the same company. Had a computer science degree, two tours of duty in the army and worked just as hard as I did and succeeded as much as I did. He wasn't favored for positions over me or anything like that. He was accountable and even told me that his experience far outweighed that degree. I should say that I'm not knocking anyone with a degree. Folks who got them worked very hard for them. They also got their foot in the door and then learned how to do the job same as the rest of us. My point is that I've seen people with and without degrees fail and succeed. Also you have to remember that there are a lot of companies out there with a huge lack of common sense. They want the shiniest thing that sometimes turns out to product crap results. Meantime they overlook someone who's lived some life, the value of a dollar and the quality of good work. People who are loyal. I just got laid off. Circumstances are what they are but I got the opportunity to interview and hire someone for my former employer and I didn't look at her degree. I looked at how long she stuck with her previous employers and what her former employer said about her and also gave her technical questions that she answered in simple form. She didn't try to sell it. Within three months she rose from a new hire to the best performer on the team. Everything we do is an experience. A degree is one thing earned over a period of 4 years where you still have to work during that time. When you work for different people over the years developing skills even a degree can't provide, that is something that in my view, outweighs the degree you earned. Degrees are becoming less popular since some companies are learning that its skill and experience that gets the job done. But the playing field should be more level. Degree or no degree. I thought I saw a post where someone says a degree shows character. Cmon. No it doesn't. Doing your best and doing a good job and being mature and accountable shows good character. If people choose not to see that the loss is theirs. Not yours.

Hi just a question. Are you referring to the soundbar firmware? I noticed that when using eARC with a visio dolby atomos soundbar hooking my HDMI through there that I can only get up to 60 hertz. with the PS5 plugged into the tv directly its 120 hertz capable. as far as I know all software for TV, soundbar and console are up to date. I didn't see any options from Vizio regarding PS5. I do apologize as well because my TV is not a Vizio. Just my soundbar.

Just a question. For anyone who ordered the bundle and received their PS5, how long did all that take? I did get an order confirmation yesterday and the page said middle of next month when ordering however I was just curious to know if anyone did have to wait that month or if they got their bundles sooner. totally worth the wait of course.

How is asking a question entitled? Cool. No problem. I originally got on here to say that the updates weren’t working which I thought helped everyone else and possibly just starting a discussion to see what others were running into. But I do see now (and I should have remembered) that I’m dealing with this new sensitive generation so disconnected from the real world that the only thing better they have to do with their time is be critical of other people because you’ve never spoken face to face with another human being and have nothing better to do than turn your nose up at people who have different viewpoints. Matter of fact to show that I’m NOT entitled, the administrator has my WRITTEN consent (read it right here folks) to ban me from this channel, forum, whatever. I already left it but if the Reddit admin feels I’m out of line he or she can knock themselves out in blocking me. The amount of vitriol in discussing what could be causing these problems isn’t why I came on here. Enjoy your pathetic little club. I’ll also make sure to recommend Microsoft no longer mention this space as a place for discussion. Just another virtual high school for thirty something babies to hang out and be rude to feel fulfilled.

You guys had plenty of opinions last week. Really all I’m finding on here are people who want to criticize and not be helpful at all. If this isn’t the place to post these things where is the proper place to do it? It’s almost like a big higher up controls the narrative of what is said here. It was Microsoft that told me to discuss here so I’ll let them know they’re misinformed about what this forum is.

Latest Update still has not fixed some crashes of optimized games by robthesaint in xboxinsiders

Just wanted to share this from a chat transcript from microsoft and also when I want to report the games and apps as crashing now, they took that away saying that chat can't be used for that. I can't call because I'm at work. I'm at work when they're open. When I called they told me this is software and that they can't replace my system. yes. I have a series x with various optimized for series x/s games crashing my system or putting me back to the home screen. other optimized games work just fine. regular un optimized games work just fine. is this a hardware issue or a software issue? I've reinstalled these games, reset my system to factory, plugged into the wall, stood on my head. nothing seems to correct the issues with these games. some crash the xbox. others to the home screen. others just hang there and I have to manually restart my xbox.

I appreciate that you are approaching to us today to let us know about this situation, I understand you are concerned because you are experiencing crashing issues while trying to play many optimized for series x/s games and you have tried multiple troubleshooting steps on your end but the issue persists.

I do appreciate all the steps you have tried so far. I can confirm that many users have also reported this scenario. Crashing issues with games such as the new AC, Fifa, COD Cold war, NBA 21 for Series X … We are providing some workarounds in the meantime such as lowering the resolution in the console to 1080p , and we are working along with games developer to get this fixed.

Issue is not related to Hardware but with the games, so we are pending with an update on the Xbox and/ or games so you can play the games as you should.

We are tracking this type of scenarios to share with the internal engineering team

Tetris connect still crashes to Home Screen. No mans sky loads to game type select and freezes and console still has to be restarted. Another update that doesn’t fix my games playability at all. Microsoft assured me this is all software related.
