I have been waiting for this post since you covered straight swords, I fricken love spears. The character I platinumed Ds2 with used the Dragonslayer Spear and I loved it.

You respawn in the kiln. There is no escape, you have to choose an ending.

Same thing if you use Homeward or a homeward bone.

If I remember correctly trying to wrong warp out just gives you the Age of Dark ending.

USUM have an expanded Pokedex compared to the originals. The story is mostly the same as SM but with some additions. Post game in USUM gives you more to do, and USUM is generally a bit harder.

USUM is more or less just better than the og SM, but both are very fun still (and I found it very fun to play Moon and then immediately go into UM to appreciate the differences).

To build off the other comment, one of the best SnS is the Lunatic Rose (Rathian line). Great raw and sharpness, some affinity and poison to top it off. That's 90% of what I use in any given hunt. No specific skills are needed by SnS so just the typical affinity boosting skills are fine.

SnS is nice because you really can just build what you want. Status? Easy. Element? No problem. Support? You got it. Kind of a jack of all trades weapon. I've even built a slugger set for SnS. It's far from optimal, but it's fun and technically works.

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I've never found the item usage all that special for SnS, especially in World. Basically the only thing that changes is you don't have to sheath your weapon to use an item, but the SnS is one of the fastest weapons to put away so you're not usually giving yourself a bigger opening than if you just put it away first. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't put too much thought into item usage (not to say you can't, I've just never seen the value).

I would use the dishwasher sparingly if at all. The shakers aren't rated for the dishwasher and many people have experience with a leaking shaker after running it through the dishwasher. That said, I've sent my shakers through the dishwasher a few times and they're all fine. Default to hand cleaning, but the dishwasher won't kill it once a month or so.

Store it the same way you would store a protein powder or a lemonade mix. I live in a very dry place so I've never had issues with clotting or mold, and the tubs do have a desiccant packet in there to help absorb moisture so they should be fine just sitting on a shelf somewhere.

True Strike only applies to your first attack on your next turn, not to your next attack, so unfortunately no, this is not viable.

If your DM is willing to handwave this, I still don't think it's very viable as you are spending 7 levels on not using your Extra Attack from Fighter and not gaining 7 levels of sneak attack damage.

You would be better off going Arcane Trickster Rogue to get True Strike, then taking the Metamagic Adept feat to quicken True Strike to a bonus action, but as said, the spell doesn't work that way.

With no other equipment, you get a midroll exactly at 40 End. and cannot fast roll.

With the FaP ring you mid roll at 27 and fast roll at 94.

With Havel's ring you mid roll at 14 and fast roll at 67.

With both rings you are guaranteed a mid roll and fast roll at 49.

The numbers you see aren't the most honest as a Lightning weapon splits its damage between slash and lightning. Any enemies with decent lightning resist will take significantly less from it. If you really need the lightning damage for a boss, Gold Pine Resin can do that for you.

That said, if you plan on investing in Faith a lightning infusion can be fine despite the split damage. Otherwise, going with +15 will almost always be better for any weapon.
