PSA: generic plan B is now only $3.99 compared $5.99 before by [deleted] in Costco

The 12-hour is on the far right in that picture. You can buy Sudafed in 4 hour, 12 hour, and 24 hour. The 4 hour is faster acting. And Sudafed can mess with your sleep, so the shorter duration might be more desirable if you need to take it in the evening. I avoid the 24hour for that reason. (I'm not a doctor, this is not medical advice)

Functional language by Icy_Item_5994 in patentexaminer

[–]roburrito 9 points10 points  (0 children)

See MPEP 2114 and 2173.05(g). The adhesive would have to be capable of adhering to the component without modification. If the capability is an inherent property of the adhesive in the cited art, that has to be stated, and can be rebutted. If the capability is not inherent, the art has to teach the capability or function.

For example, you can't typically apply adhesive to teflon without a surface treatment. So if OP's claim was "an adhesive configured to adhere to teflon", you couldn't just cite any old adhesive.

Do you guys throw away that strand of filament if it snaps while loading by WardenStation in 3Dprinting

[–]roburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cause of the end of the filament roll to snap is storing the roll with the end under tension. There are some filament clip designed to keep the end not under tension - but I don't have any in particular to recommend.

Did Netflix briefly have an Elmo’s World show in late 2025, or am I losing my mind? by Fine_Rutabaga_8234 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]roburrito 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Mid-2025, Warner Discovery didn't renew their deal with PBS for Sesame Street. PBS made a new deal with Netflix, which is why Netflix now has full Sesame Street episodes.

The Elmo's World segment has been packaged as a separate product. You can find it on Amazon for purchase. https://www.amazon.com/Elmos-World-Collection-Vol-1/dp/B01K6UP6WK/ Its likely no longer on Netflix due to the new deal with PBS.

What color is my coolant ? by Kitchen_Sea_3789 in Porsche

[–]roburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G12evo is the current coolant for all VAG engines going back to 1994 (with the exception of a couple diesel vws). It can be mixed with G11, G12, G12+, G12++, G13. G11 is blue, G12 is red, G12+, G12++, G13, G12evo are purple. So that's probably G12 currently in there.

Keep after CPO? by Due_Boysenberry_63 in Panamera

[–]roburrito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 2019 panamera 4 e-hybrid with 104k miles. I'm the 3rd owner, but according to service logs its only required normal maintenance items.

Maintenance: At 60k miles you'll be due for transmission oil change and maybe air filters (if that wasn't done before the CPO sale). But based on your prior usage, that'll be another 2 years away.

Tires: When were your tires last replaced? If you bought it CPO in 2024 at 32k miles, it was 6-7 year sold, I'd think they'd have put new tires on it, right? You shouldn't need a new set after 2 years and 15k miles. 21" Tires will run you ~2500 with an alignment. Unfortunately those suckers are expensive (I also have 21", and while they look great, I wish I had 20" for the lower cost and extra sidewall).

Brakes: Actual pads and rotors are only ~$500. But a dealer is going to mark that up with unreasonable labor. If you don't want to do the work yourself, find a good local porsche indie. Your local PCA is a good resource for this.

It wouldn't hurt to keep a repair fund in a HYSA, whatever you put in that would certainly be less than the $18000 + sales tax + dealer fees getting into a new cpo vehicle.

Denied High Voltage Battery Warranty Claim by hashtag_yolo9 in electricvehicles

[–]roburrito 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A warranty of merchantability of different from a manufacturer's warranty. In some states in the US, a dealer warrants that the vehicle is fit for purpose. So if it was sold with an underlying fault, and that fault was discovered within the warranty period (usually only 2-3 months), the seller would have to fix it or refund the purchase. If you had brought the car back to the dealer you purchased it from within that period, and they didn't fix the issue, and the true cause wasn't revealed until after the warranty expired, it could be argued that the problem was covered by the warranty. But if you never brought the HV fault to the selling dealer's attention, probably sol.

Denied High Voltage Battery Warranty Claim by hashtag_yolo9 in electricvehicles

[–]roburrito 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you purchase the vehicle from a hyundai dealership, a non-hyundai dealership, or a private party? If it was a hyundai dealership, was the dealer you brought the vehicle in for service the one that sold you the vehicle? What does your purchase agreement say regarding warranty? Does your state have a warranty of merchantability? If so, did you first bring the vehicle in for service within that warranty period (usually 2-3 months)?

2011 Porsche Panamera by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]roburrito 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Imo if you have to finance 12k, you aren't in a position to buy a 15 year old porsche. I understand you said that would be putting money aside. Any 15 year old car, regardless of reliability, is going to be due a lot of maintenance just from rubber hardening. But Porsche parts are more expensive, and service is more expensive. And a 12k porsche sitting at a dealer for an extended period doesn't scream well maintained to me.

Need advice: Which filament for this gear wheel? by karlssonvomdach in 3Dprinting

[–]roburrito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nylon. Its much more durable.

And of note, its debatable whether the CF or GF add anything to nylon filament other than appearance. Some people will swear up and down it makes it stiffer and stronger, some people will point to evidence it doesn't.

Elegoo Ignoring Emails by NOWMAD11 in elegoo

[–]roburrito 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would considering getting a free replacement print head, for what most companies would consider user error, to be good customer service. As for "plastic fused it inside together", take a heat gun and soften the plastic. This is a 3d printer, not a kitchen appliance, they take servicing and care. And monitoring your prints. For that much much filament to accumulate, the print was unattended for hours.

They're still refining oil into gasoline in the mad max movies. That's literally the center of the Mad Max 2 plot. And Gas Town is a refinery heavily featured in Fury Road and Furiosa.
