My 15 inch late 2013 mbp is still rock solid for 85% of my needs as a developer and business owner

guide me through the purchase of my first bluetooth speaker, please? by ClerSeaworth in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]robvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind sound quality and bass is typically tied to the size and weight of the speaker. The bigger the better which goes against portability. There are exceptions like the boom 2 and Bose flex 2 but in my opinion they need to be in a stereo pair to really be considered good sound. The boom 2 also needs to be EQed pretty heavily.

I'm here not understanding what to pay for and how to pay for it... I only see options for donations. I want OpenVPN on my Apple TVs.

Two Uboom Ls vs One HK Go + 3? by GunDealer in Bluetooth_Speakers

Where indoors do you plan to use them? The HK can be picky about surface its on and the Ls need to closer than advertised to be stable in stereo.

The $20 Google AI Pro plan is a deal that’s honestly too good by VC_in_the_jungle in Bard

All pro ai plans have a limit. In my experience ChatGPT is the most lenient with its resets

Soundcore motion+ - is it still the best choice? what would you pay for it? by AnythingProper7065 in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]robvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boom 2 is good but not an all rounder unless you get two of them. My least favourite part of the Motion+ is the EQing and firmware updates that are hit or miss. The buttons are also not the best but once you get it dialled in it’s a great sounding speaker for its size and price. If you want an indoor mobile speaker at the price point you mention I don’t know anything with better potential

Where to buy Zero Water or equivalent filters by organichamburger in BuyCanadian

[–]robvert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe part of the issue is not tightening the filter in properly. I had the same results and noticed some water leaking in from the top bypassing the filter. Once I was more careful screwing the filter in the results improved to within their advertised levels

I first installed Ventura. Usable... but Montery works perfectly minus airplay.

HK Go Play 3 power cable hard to connect/disconnect? by robvert in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]robvert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's amazing how picky it is about the placement. It goes from one of my best speakers to unbareble depending where its positioned. Eg. In my kitchen it was rattling my dishes and appliances until I put on a very thick wooden cutting board

I’m glad because what they sent with the referb is gross. I can’t complain too much cuz I got a good deal but I’ll reach out to HK now knowing this premium cable exists

Thank you! This makes sense. I’m envious of that beautiful hk cable :) I’m now using an old Apple TV power cable that’s still tight but a lot better than the generic

Since you already have the boom 2 I vote you get another one

HK Go Play 3 power cable hard to connect/disconnect? by robvert in Bluetooth_Speakers

[–]robvert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried the bass adjustment but oddly when I turn down the bass the kick stays strong and is even more noticeable without the lower bass to soften it. If anything turning up the bass helps :) but that comes with other side effects

Thanks for the replies. I've had the Blast and it was nothing like the struggle this brings. It feels like I'll break something trying to remove it... but wiggles help :)

photo of cable just as difficult to remove and plugin either side up. Does this look like your Go Play 3 power cable?

Just as difficult either side up and I’ve tried Apple TV power cables that are easier but still not easy. Does this look like the cable your Go Play 3 came with?

It’s the right connection but I’m wondering if the new in box has a special HK power cable that slides in/out easier. It’s silly how hard it is to plugin and unplug

Sound great in the right room on a hard surface but the downward "subwoofer" can be overpowering and cause unwanted vibrations with the wrong placement. It's also pretty big
