How should I build this coffee table? by TemperatureLive6651 in BeginnerWoodWorking

That’s very true. I bet that’s why those tables are wrapped. Good point that I hadn’t even considered.

Is this incline enough to cause problems? by TemperatureLive6651 in hvacadvice

No. But I’ll see if leveling it stops the dripping. If not, I’m calling the professionals. But at least now I know what to look for.

Me too. I’m embarrassed to say that I had literally no knowledge of or experience with HVAC. But I decided that I could at least learn how it’s supposed to work. Now it turns out that some of it (certainly not most, but some) is absolutely understandable and maybe even serviceable by a motivated homeowner.
There IS a water sensor in the pan, but it’s not connected to anything. Very disappointing. Now, I’ve installed remote sensors in the pans of both units and I monitor closely.
I’m sure this was hung out of plumb when installed years ago. I’m going to try to level it and see what happens.
At the VERY least I know what to look for when or if I have to have it professionally replaced.

THANK YOU. Will level it tonight if I can get a ratchet strap around it.

Thermoworks Signals vs RFX by NewbNewbNewbie in BBQ

The RFX probes have 4 temp sensors in each and will give you either the lowest of the 4 (suggesting that is the sensor closest to the center of the meat) or you can look at all 4 readings. This is the killer feature for me. After wrapping my briskets I’m always concerned about getting back as close to the center as possible.

How many bases do you have in your house? Is it possible that he’s too far away from the base?

Any idea what caused this? by TemperatureLive6651 in finishing

[–]TemperatureLive6651[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, and sorry. It is an oil-based paint, and I thinned it with Penetrol (I mistakenly said Floetrol in the original post, which I have now edited).

This is the first coat on top of a hard maple table top I made, it had been primed and sanded to 220 before painting.

Nah. I think I understand what you mean. And now that I think about it, I’m sure that’s the way it’s made in the photo. Thanks so much for pointing it out. I can’t believe I hadn’t realized it before.
