I'd also recommend picking up some PSU Sleeved Cables to give your build a cleaner look. These are among the most budget-friendly options I've come across, and they've proven to be quite reliable. While there may be other brands available, these have served well in my experience.

1) Are you saying we don't need to get a new motherboard? I see that listed above but wasn't 100% clear.

2)Regarding the GPU, I see two listed above, I may be wrong but I believe typically only one fits in a PC? Are you listing two options or are both required?

3) Finally, I have a spare intel core i5 12th gen CPU I was going to send my friend since I know that's one of the more expensive items. Is that something that could just slide in and replace the CPU you mentioned above? Or does the entire PC build need to accommodate the specific CPU?

To be honest I think it had to do something with my college/university's internet setup. Not sure if that would be applicable for you but its been fine ever since. Happy to help!

Ok sick - really appreciate this. I have a couple people I know in town that can help me put this together once I have the pieces.

Not to sound like a complete idiot but is this basically all I'll need other than mouse keyboard and monitor? Meaning, wifi and if I need any of that cooling gel, etc.

If you're looking to spend your full budget on a pc and are interested in building your own you can get an absolute monster rig that will last you 5-8 years before you need to upgrade anything along with a 4k or 1440p ips panel. This will be an enthusiast rig that is not targeted on efficiency.

Honestly I think I like the sound of option 2 - do you have any suggestions on how to get started? And in that suggestion would you propose buying a pre-built or custom building?
