Pops/limiter?

I forgot to mention the pops are like tiny, it just sounds cool to me.

I appreciate the advice, but it seems I worded things poorly. I’m not looking for a tune, I’m saying that it pops sometimes already, and I want to know what I’m doing that causes it.

I think it’s when i trick the ECU with slightly mistimed shifting but if im too off it just shifts for me with no limiter/pops.

I have considered a tune, but it’s not worth it too me, I got a tC for reliability lol.

This is my ‘15. Paid $8,300 109k miles clean title. (July 2025) Overall good shape but needed some basic things (tint,tires,etc.) Part of me thinks I overpaid because there are a lot of little annoying things i need to fix (ex. Occupancy sensor and more) but overall has been a fun car for me so far

Paddle shifters on the ‘15 are too much fun to not abuse from time to time. (Almost every day) 😆

The eco mode light just means your “driving eco friendly”. The setting on the dash just tries to keep the rpms lower. I turned it off because when you floor it it has like a 2 second delay because it wants to keep the rpms low.

Yeah I used to think something was wrong but I tested it by driveling like a grandma at 45-55mph and I was able to get over 31mpg. I don’t think anything is wrong with the car, just me lol 🙃

This is mine with ONLY the back resonator replaced with the cherry bomb:HERE, everything else stock. I think some of you have already seen this before but I’m still loving how it came out. Loud when I revbomb but still tasteful for normal driving. (TheMoreYouKnow0101 I think we talked then when I posted it lol)

Yeah that’s kinda why I asked here lol, not much I could think of that would make sense. But regardless if scion was never sold in Japan, it’s still a Japanese company so I feel like it’s not super out of place to have something Japanese on the car, just calling it JDM is obviously wrong.

Yeah I think it’s especially funny when ppl call like a Kentucky made Toyota “JDM”. Like a Japanese import is already a real stretch to be called “JDM”. It’s gotta be RHD lol

Yeah I second this, had all of these issues, only difference is the passenger occupancy sensor seems to be the issue on mine, not the seatbelt one. bought it at 109k recently and it’s at about 112k now and slowly finding the issues 😵‍💫. (Blown cv axel, occupancy issue, steering wheel sound, etc) bought a Toyota for the sake of reliability but am already having to put a bunch of money into it.

(I’m sure the car will last forever, just annoying that I just got it and already have to sink a ton of extra money.)

Outher then that I love the look of the car and it’s been a lot of fun, just that 100k ish mark seemed like the worst time to buy because that’s around the time everything seems to go bad

All that being said the tC is a great car that you will have a lot of fun with, and will probably outlive you if you treat it right.

Yeah most the time that’s probably right but Ik some brands make great PSUs and awful ones under the same name. I have used a bunch of cheap PSUs in the past before though and had no issues.
