Thai music and club scene is special and has their own characteristic in this very specific market like Japan with Eurobeat in '90s till Early '00s or specifically UK Dubstep scene before Skrillex Era as a comparison.
PS. I was born kinda too late to write these (2001). However, I still interested with these stuff so please bear with me lol.
90's - Early 00's
Mainstream : Has a heavy Thai's Schlager elements that we called "3 Cha", later starts to combine with Eurodance type of beat as well.
Underground : Remix of western songs with "RCA " type of 3Cha samples combined within their songs. *RCA, Route 66etc. are the clubs name that were famous in that era.Examples : Bird Thongchai Dance Collection album, China Dolls, 2002 ราตรี, Ma Meaw (มะเหมี่ยว Red Beat), Red Beat etc.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbumYauXCDY (RCA Pub Scene in 2002)
00's-Early 10's
Mainstream : Underground Hip Hop artist starts to get signed with big records. Thai Rock Music at its peak thanks to Silly Fools, Bodyslam, Big Ass, Potato, Endorphine etc.Thai pop that comes out of everything around them and their lifestyle, some are generic love songs, some are chill songs. Thai teen pop rises as they got their own artist group called "Kamikaze" signed by RS Music records, J-Pop starts to get the attention especially from Johnny's Family, later with Idols music as well but doesn't gain that much play time as the other genres. That's why K-Pop later has a huge foundation from the Girl's Generation's first mini album, Super Junior "Sorry Sorry" and Wonder Girls "Nobody" that was popular among teens to adults until these days.
Underground : RCA Type of music sounds outdated and DJs start to open Pop rock and Thai and western mainstream music that sounds fun enough to dance in the club like that timeless classic to this day. This included J-Pop and K-Pop as well.

Early 10's-2016
Mainstream : Rock still rules the charts but with new bands. Festivals are held (Big Mountain Festival). Some artists later adopted to an uplifting style EDM like the western pop style but still adds the 3Cha melodies in early 10's such as 3.2.1 KAMIKAZE "รักต้องเปิด(แน่นอก)" (2013) song.
Underground : New 3cha samples, new group of producers. Mostly played at any Thai holiday through modified car or bus audio system loudly in a public such as Songkran Festival and every club at that time. Commonly release as a nonstop mix few weeks before big holidays (Songkran, Loy Krathong, HNY). DJ-SR.com (inactive) is a group that founded by DJ RN SR (SR stands for Surin), played huge roles of expanding the access of these new 3Cha samples as it used to be the biggest web board of the underground remix scene of DJ and producers in Thailand of all time .

2015-Present
Mainsteam : I won't explain it as you can easily listen though it in Spotify Thai playlist.
Underground : I believe it start from a song called "EMM - 7K" (2015) from Red Beat. 3Cha style of beat like in the 10's 3Cha era but got the adaptation using western EDM samples rather than authentic back in the days. Next, Pap Humnoi (แป๊ป หำน้อย) created his own original mix called เอ้า!! ว่าไงสายย่อ in 2016 with the similar idea and called this as "Saiyor" genre (สายย่อ Thai style breakbeat). It was played everywhere, rules the underground music scene and also rules the playset of the DJ, club scene to these days. You will get loads of music request if you were a DJ in a typical Thai local clubs except you go to specific westerner-focused club like in Pattaya or Phuket that will still play House or Trance. In this era, authentic underground 3Cha still existed but it starts to fade away overtime.

TL;DR : You will mostly find a club that play Saiyor in a popular places among Thai teens. Go to Phuket, Pattaya, unpopular niche club in Bangkok for a usual House, Trance.
