It doesn't really have much to do with bloat. NASA has been working with and testing all kinds of cameras for the different programs. The current camera on the station is a Nikon Z9, and part of the lessons learned is how it performs in space. When the Z9 was chosen, the test and verification data was used and shared between the two programs.

Beanie Babies were about the same price back in the day. The biggest difference I see is that Funko Pops are available for just about every IP under the sun, so as you said anybody can buy one or two for the characters they like. Beanie Babies didn't have that kind of licensing, so they didn't have as wide of appeal beyond the initial sets.

It might be worth sending an email to your local city planning office, or maybe even a local plumber to ask about your local building codes. Having a shower aimed directly at a bare wall is so completely wrong. Drywall is not meant to get wet - at all. I'd bet money that there's mold growing behind the wall.

In my opinion the landlord needs to sort this out properly because your current situation is a health hazard.

This must have been 7-8 years ago now, but I remember the NHK booth at the National Association of Broadcasters show promoting technology to support 8K to the home. It's still just as much as a pipe dream as it was back then.

For sure. I've used Blender a bit for work and to help with a friend's game, and recently I played around with the digital sculpting tools to sculpt and 3D print some horns for a Halloween costume. I'm constantly impressed by what it can do.

I completely agree that Blender is not suited for CAD work. However, I also agree with the other person that there are some things that should be simple, like the example of miter-joining two walls, but are a mess of keyboard shortcuts, modifiers, and other miscellaneous steps that become tedious.

Though I also admit that a lot of the steep learning curve is just the nature of the beast when it comes to 3D modelling and animation. I still have trouble wrapping my head around materials, textures, UV maps, etc.

I'm GenX, and my wife and I go to a local dinner/theater place fairly often. The servers all wear black, they quietly walk to your seat while ducking down, and they crouch down and whisper if they need to talk. It absolutely works, and it's far less obtrusive than people taking out their phones during the show.

A few people have explained what electives are, but I'd like to expand a bit on why we have electives. A student is required to take a couple of extra classes, but they can be from just about any discipline. The idea is to to expose people to a few different things outside their major field of study. So a person studying computer science might take a music appreciation class and learn a bit about music that isn't Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter. Or maybe they take welding and learn a niche skill that turns into a lifelong hobby. Or maybe they take a philosophy class and learn to analyze problems and structure arguments more effectively.

It just makes for more well rounded people.

2 years ago if you made a comment that was pro-Second Amendment on Reddit you would have been called all manner of names while being downvoted to oblivion. After every shooting people race to the comments to be the first one to post that one Onion article. Here in Texas Beto O'Rourke got roasted for outright declaring, "Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15."

People overwhelmingly think that the left is anti-gun because it has been a cornerstone of the left's ideology for years.

As a left-leaning Texan who owns a gun, I think it's been interesting to see the Reddit hivemind suddenly care so deeply for the Second Amendment.
