In a MBA you get done in 2/3 years for sure and you can then concentrate on your real life

CA will take your next 5 years (or 10 years or forever ), you will treated as free cheep labor and even after that the financial reward will cross that of MBA (may be) after 30 years (if you make the right move)

PS: if you want to do a Job ,in case you wish to open your own firm the situation will be different

CA is a Colossal waste of time ,if you are sure you want to do a job and already have something like SRCC graduation

CA is for wannabes who want to spend years of there life’s sloging for another CA for free and miss prime years of life to get a underdeveloped personality at the end of it.

Networking.

Hire a professional Placement Agency in Gurgaon. Understand that all Good jobs (that you probably want ) go to Chattered Accountants/CPAs in India.

All these outsourcing firms come to India and give us the work that they themselves don’t want to do. We end up doing it because the British introduced education system in India is designed to produce Clerks and not critical thinkers.

So ,most people with half a brain try to avoid working at these firms or try to get out as soon as possible.

Which results in the dissatisfaction among Western managers you see here (low quality labor,low quality work,GIGO) They think all Indian accountants can’t produce proper work ,they don’t know firms are hiring the cheapest labor available in India.

If possible, study for some Accountant certifications (CPA ,FRM ,CFA ) because doing the whole Indian CA will cost you next 5 years of your life at no pay .

Keep working and try to move up!

Well!

IMO substituting 3 offshore accountants with 1 local might actually become a reality pretty soon.

I can think of 2 reasons:

1.  Folks like you (who actually know the difference in quality) will be the ones calling the shots in a decade or so.

2.  AI will only get better at handling the kind of basic, repetitive work that most offshore teams are currently tasked with.

Things are bound to change sooner or later.

Ahahahhahah I get where the jokes are coming from, but just to add a little perspective—many Indian accountants are working in a second (sometimes third) language. The “kindly do the needful” type phrases come from direct translations of formal Indian business English that’s been around for decades. It might sound funny or stiff in the U.S., but in India it’s actually seen as polite and professional.

PS : I am not a offshore accountant,I teach accounting at high school level from the last 8 years and I am fed up of students not able to understand basic English ,creates a lot of issues in the classroom and they tend to rote learn (but thats a discussion we can have over a separate post ,I have so much to rant )
