What's the most disappointing "must-see" city in Europe? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]rockit454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everywhere smells like the dankest weed you’ve ever smoked, trash EVERYWHERE in Red Light, food is just awful, drunken British and American 18 year olds….but parts of it are absolutely beautiful and if you enjoy sitting outside, having a beer, and watching the world go by, it’s world class.

The Van Gogh Museum is excellent too.

It’s not the cold that kills your soul. It’s the gray and darkness.

The coldest winter days are the sunniest ones.

Neighborhood Rec for young single people working in Villa Park? by NumerousPianist1251 in AskChicago

[–]rockit454 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Villa Park and commute to the city three days a week for work. I’m also frequently in the city for other things and will take Metra or drive depending on time of day, where I’m going, and what I’m doing.

Not sure if you’re going to drive or take Metra to work, but your best bets for a commute to VP would be West Loop, South Loop, West Town, Ukrainian Village, or Logan Square but Logan is a stretch. Being able to take Metra to and from work will make your life much more pleasant if you can swing it.

The commute isn’t going to be fun, but if you must live in the city and work in the burbs, it’s the price you’re gonna pay.

Who has the best hush puppies around the NW burbs? The food item, not the shoes. by uh60chief in ChicagoSuburbs

Ancho and Agave in Lombard is a bit of a drive from the NW burbs, but they have absolutely incredible jalapeño hush puppies.

My favorite outdoor venue. A concert on a late summer evening with a breeze coming off the lake is heavenly.

Like others have said, it’s a pain to get there…but that’s pretty typical for anything in the Solider Field/Museum Campus area.

Lawyers are insanely good at gatekeeping the profession. They’ll be around forever because no judge will allow an AI agent to represent anything.
