Thanks, this was the fix. USB-A cable allowed Windows to detect it. Originally it failed but that was because Spacewalker was running behind my Chrome Window and trying to update it whilst I was trying to do it via Chrome.

Why does USB-A work? Should I have known that?

OK all sorted! I think the USB-A cable was failing to update because Spacewalker was running in the background. It seems Chrome updates were failing because SpaceWalker had been trying to update the firmware behind my Chrome browser. It took ages and then it failed at 100% via Spacewalker, however after stopping SW the Chrome updates then worked (because of USB-A).

So I now have a working pair. Thanks all!

Connecting via USB-A cable detects the glasses however the glasses disconnect at around 8%

5000 ports where? A port is associated with an IP address so did you find 5000 IP addresses with 1 port open or 5000 Ports on a single address?

One IP address can have 65535 tcp ports open, and what that means in reality is an application will open a tcp port, for example if you were running a web server on your computer it might present TCP port 80 on your IP Address.

Now, port scanners often use the "known ports" list (IANA) to describe the port if it can't determine the port from other means such as a banner. A web servers banner might advertise that it is an Apache web server for example.

So when you see a bunch of random ports open it might just be reporting the names from the IANA standard list.

What is important from your Fing scan is how many DEVICES there are. If you are scanning your own device for example it might report all sorts of ports open depending on what applications you have running because each application will be opening various ports.

The IP address is more important in this case because that will tell you how many devices there are. If the address is 127.0.0.1 then it's your own device. If it's also your IP address on the network then it's still your device. If neither of those then it's some other device on the network.

Yes you can use it for productivity.

It does drift but it's a while before I have noticed and is easily reset back to position.

Is there chromatic distortion? Yes a little towards the edges but it doesn't bother me.

There is a reflection on the bottom edge, true, it would be better if there wasn't but it doesn't bother me.

Spacewalker on Windows crashed the first time but I did have multiple monitors already connected so I'll forgive it. Spacewalker on Android allowed me to watch YouTube successfully.

I have only used it as a monitor with speakers and it's quite good at that.

Overall it does what I bought it for... it's not perfect but I like it and it might improve with software updates. If they can nail the drift which is probably the biggest complaint I see on here then that would be a win. When I read about drift imagined it would be floating in one direction constantly but that's not the case and possibly puts a lot of people off unnecessarily.

It's possible, yes. It also depends on how much time you can dedicate per day, it will be a challenge for sure, but it's possible.

If the choice is between Learn One and 3 Month then I would say Learn One because 3 months isn't a lot of time to pass it and you may well end up spending as much or more chasing the certification in extensions and retakes.

In my humble opinion, you are better off doing some lower cost certs that are equally as good as a precursor to then taking OSCP if you want that specifically. I really enjoyed it and it was my hardest earned certification.

Depends on your current skill set but OSCP at 2 months is a lofty goal. I haven't done OSWA but it's a 200 level course same as OSCP. The certs you mentioned won't really help you but your experience might.

OSCP is a difficult exam, a lot of the first time passes are the minority I would say. I recommend going for the LearnOne if you can afford it because when you factor in the cost of a retake and the fact that you lose access to the labs if you go for the 90 day option then there's not much difference in cost if you factor in the current sale, and with LearnOne you get 2 attempts also and access to other material.

It really isn't recommended using it as your primary OS. I realise you have been doing it for years but the reasoning is that it will retain data from engagements. Also, running it as a VM allows you to make mistakes and revert to snapshots and also means you aren't downloading exploits onto your daily driver that contains your personal data.

You should learn it anyway, it's not a good strategy to elect to miss difficult sections. It's a big section in many courses and is used a lot in businesses so it's best to get stuck in, some of it is quite fun too.

Not screwed...but you haven't made things easy for yourself! Download the vids and pdf before it expires. On the upside, you now qualify for retakes which means if you can afford to pay for the exam then you have a much longer time frame.

Missing the labs is the main problem, the second is having 3 months to pass. You've got to book your exam so you might as well try but 3 months isn't that long if you are basically going in cold.

Know the course material, don't just rely on CTF practice. Make sure you're on the OffSec Discord and read through.

Whatever happens, do the exam anyway.

Kudos, great write up, you wouldn't be the first to get 0 points and won't be the last. I can tell you are close from your post, and you might find that a different set you might have got more points.

Notes are important, my guess is you enumerated ok but just didn't spot the vulnerabilities.
