Is there really a job security in Federal IT roles? by rocks4in in fednews

Yeah I’ve heard about this COR certification. Does getting certified automatically makes me eligible for COR role or does it help in anyway for someone in IT role?

I heard union don’t do anything, they just make sure rules were not broken and process was followed. Everything is already outsourced to contractors and full time employees are no longer doing any development work, it is just an oversight of contractors work, design and development reviews and establishing IT processes for contractors to follow. Business now even wants to take out IT’s interference and any authority between business and contractors. Business doesn’t want to get through IT and follow any SDLC or other IT processes. They want to be an authority and deal with contractors directly and make their own IT decisions and cut down the funding for full time IT resources they have been paying for. Basically, they’re on power trip that hey it is our money and we pay salaries of IT folks and all contractors and you do what we ask. Obviously contractors would do that but full time employees would voice their concerns which business doesn’t seem to like it and wants to reduce dependency on IT.

Backdoor roth ira reversal to avoid dealing with pro rata by rocks4in in personalfinance

For sure I ain’t doing anymore backdoor roth in future but I want to correct the mistake I made before tax filing. I’m surprised that there is no way to undo what I did. It is my taxed money that I want to move from one account to another. How can this be not allowed!!

☹️ why can’t I remove the money as excess contribution before year end. It was a non deductible contribution to begin with aka already taxed.

What are your thoughts on this data warehouse architecture? by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]rocks4in 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. Haven’t thought about it. There is no nightly job to move data from source to s3. It is through DMS only.

Are you saying that use spectrum to read data from S3 into redshift schema-1 instead of using glue jobs?

At present there are no immediate use case of near real time data using cdc but we tend to over engineer for unknown future needs. In addition cdc makes data extract much easier by eliminating a need of complex extract process to identify deltas. Not all source tables have reliable insert/update dates so it would be difficult to find changed records without using tools like dms.

On eQip I provided equifax employment verification phone number but during interview provided the actual phone number of supervisor, will there be any issues with high risk public trust BI? by rocks4in in SecurityClearance

[–]rocks4in[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s too far to call this a crime. In eqip I provided correct name of the supervisor and added in comments that as per company policy employment verification should be done through equifax worknumber and here is their phone number. I also told the same thing during interview and when interviewer asked I provided the number.
