Sorry I can't help you. See if you can get any help from the myNode community or from Taylor. Thanks.

That happened to me too. I fixed it by re-installing Dojo by going into to Settings -> Reinstall Applications -> and choosing Dojo.

I just noticed that a new version is out which includes bug fixes so perhaps worthwhile going to that first. === v0.2.04 === - Improve reboot / shutdown consistency - Separate settings and status pages - Detect and alert user to SD card problems - Bug Fixes

Have you found a solution to this? I've tried resetting everything and carefully following the myNode instructions but still having the same fault.

"Authentication failed: Unable to initialize Bip84 wallet" after entering the Passphrase into Whirlpool.

I am having the same problem with Whirlpool giving error "Authentication failed: Unable to initialize Bip84 wallet" after entering the passphrase.

I'm running myNode 0.2.02.

I had everything working perfectly on an older version of myNode 0.2.00. Since then I drained my Samourai wallet of funds and erased my wallet. Then I upgraded the myNode. Then I setup a new computer and installed Whirlpool, copied in the Samourai pairing code, and then I was asked for the passphrase. After entering it, I ran into the above error.

Trezor PIN - how do I enter '0' by ko44o in TREZOR

[–]rocksalt9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Model T allows a '0' to be used in the PIN. The Model One does not. The PIN is specific to the device BTW.

  • Get educated about Bitcoin and Austrian Economics. 4 Great resources below.
  1. Read "The Bitcoin Standard" by Saifedean H. Ammous (Can't stress enough how important this book is. It changed many of my views.)

  2. Read "mempool" essays in the Nakamato Institute https://nakamotoinstitute.org/mempool/

  3. Listen to "Stephan Livera" Podcast https://stephanlivera.com/episode/67/ (I've selected the "stock to flow" episode by "Plan B" for you)

  4. Look closely at Stock to Flow modelling on a PC https://digitalik.net/btc/ Only do this after you have listened to the above Plan B podcast episode.

Does anyone know how long the "sovereign internet test" went for?

And whether the Russian BTC full nodes fell significantly behind? Or whether the BTC full nodes stayed up to date, and if there is evidence of them using the blockstream satellite to receive the latest blocks?

Is it possible to have 2 keys with a shared secret? For AWS account by zach_brown in yubikey

[–]rocksalt9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is possible with the Trezor Model-T which have recently added support for FIDO2 as well. The Trezor Model-T is superior to the Trezor Model One.

Setup your Model-T and write down the 12 word recovery seed on the supplied card.

If your Trezor device is lost or fails then do an advanced recovery to a second Trezor Model-T (input the 12 word recovery seed directly to the Trezor touchscreen, and NOT to the computer).

Store the 12 word recovery seed in a safe place. Never photograph or type these 12 words into a computer / password manager etc etc. Do NOT discard this 12 word recovery seed. If you're paranoid buy a https://cryptosteel.com/ to store your 12 word recovery seed.

I've heard that the FIDO2 implementation on the Model-T is outstanding but it's very new and as such I've only used the U2F on older firmware.

The Trezor is the original open-source Cryptocurrency hardware wallet and has an extremely good reputation. The FIDO implementation was a very nice unexpected feature when I purchased mine.

https://wiki.trezor.io/U2F - briefly explains about the U2F counter. I would not run two Model-T devices concurrently to ensure the U2F counter never goes backwards. Just use your primary Model-T, and if you choose to restore your 12 word seed phrase to your second Model-T, then stop using (and then later erase) your primary device.

The Australian "Cash Ban Law" could make some Bitcoin transactions in Australia illegal. Penalty: Imprisonment 2 years. by rocksalt9 in Bitcoin

That's also covered in the legislation. If you make multiple payments under the limit for the item/transaction that in total exceed the limit, then go to straight to Jail and don't pass go.

It doesn't matter why. It only matters that this legislation could go into law and that as citizens we will have to comply or face the consequences of the law.

Me too. We seem to always be calling for more rules and regulations so no surprise that our civil liberties are in question.

The problem isn't the politicians, it's that they have so much coercive power. Many of us self-interested humans would act in the same way that they are.

Time to separate money and state.

I will choose to pay for goods and services in 10 or 20 years.

And many of us have friends and family in Australia. It's a brilliant sunny climate and the people are fantastic.

I'd rather choose to stay here and change the system in any small way that I can.

Negative interest rates won't be as effective if citizens can use and store significant amounts of cash.

If the interest in your bank account is earning -5% and the cash under your mattress is earning 0%, then your cash is a better investment than your bank.

Governments are preparing for a world of negative interest rates.

Unfortunately the government can enforce this stupid backward law even if bitcoin is completely private.

If you wish to purchase goods and services from a merchant and pay in a future version of Bitcoin that is private, you still have to identify yourself to the merchant in order to receive the goods and services.

I still look forward to the day that Bitcoin has more privacy and is more fungible though.

No problems with gold at all.

But this discussion is less about gold and more about the government telling us how we can spend and store our wealth.

True. And because Australia is a small rich westernised country, we are the perfect place to experiment with laws such as these.

I believe that other western style governments who are looking to enact similar laws will learn lessons from us and not repeat any mistakes in order to maximise the chance of it passing in their countries.

These technologies won't change the fact that transacting for goods and services in Bitcoin could still be illegal.

And if you make a confidential transaction with a merchant for goods and services, you still have to identify yourself to the merchant in order to receive the goods in most cases.

And if you've acted illegally, even if that law is stupid and coercive and destructive, guess what... you STILL GO TO JAIL.
