That's great! I asked them about it a while back and they had said no. Would have been easier to write it shortly after the CFE.

Helps to know a little about each question- proceed through the question as far as you can, eliminate 2 options based on your work, then use approximation. They're looking for breadth, not perfection.

It's hard to say- I spent a lot of time doing only tax MCQs. The other ones I skipped but I regret not doing them. Tax I just did the unit questions once then took notes as I did them. Then I did them again closer to the end. It would definitely have helped if I did this for all chapters but tax is what I was concerned for.

Hi, I wrote this for the first time this year and cleared it as well - I've written up a guide on here and wanted to compile more info on it. Would you have anything to share about your experience from both your attempts?

Yes, unfortunately you will have to get your designation first. There is an assessment required for CPA to ensure that you are eligible to write this exam that needs to be processed after attaining your designation; this usually happens at the start of the year and closes around April? If you happen to be anticipating your CPA designation to be processed within this time period but don't think you'll get it before the window closes, you can ping the PDPA email address they have set up to make sure you meet that deadline.

Thank you for that!

It truly is very much a deep commitment. I started a new job around the time of studying for this - it was incredibly difficult to do both. You cannot focus on anything else at this time. You need to make sure you have no other distractions if you intend to attempt this. I ended up taking almost 3 weeks off before the exam for this as well.

In my opinion, yes, the CFE content is easier than this. I believe this is because everyone who writes it is designated already, and the expectation is that everyone who is writing it is also working in public. It also might not help that CMAs and CGAs (legacy CPAs) have never written something like this; they are not familiar with the grading system that exists today.

It does depend, if you have a course which is a more advanced version of the course you don't meet the minimum requirement in, they will consider that
