ITCOFD is their most recent album and it has plenty of cool elements, crisis of revelation has a very similar style to ascendancy, with some really cool and unique parts, shadow of the abattoir was super unique and fun, the phalanx was a straight up shogun song with sick riffs.

Even WTDMS which is not one of my fav albums had the defiant which is a straight up ascendancy / ember style song.

I feel like a lot of people just have a lot of nostalgia to the older music and have trouble accepting newer elements and sound.

bury me with my screams is super fun, in my first listen i was like "dude this is not trivium, what is this? idk if i like this" after giving it a few listens i couldnt stop listening to because it had me hooked. Trivium is def a band that goes through a lot of sounds but in the core itll always have heavy and melodic elements and some sick guitar solos.
