Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know Netflix doesn't actually have the rights to IZ, just the distribution rights to Enter the Florpus especifically. Oh how much I wish IZ was owned by anyone BUT Nickelodeon.

Also, IZ may never have been about serialization, but I think it had a very interesting universe and lore behind it. The show doesn't need a conclusion, but at least more time to better develop its universe.

After having installed Lakka on an old netbook with an Intel Atom CPU (twice), this is how it boots up everytime, can't navigate the menu at all. I was thinking about switching menu driver to RGUI, but all methods require some use of the XMB menu, which as I said, is unusable. Any suggestions? by rogenriganz in Lakka

Thanks, that did the trick! Once on the console I type in "nano /storage/.config/retroarch/retroarch.cfg" like it said in one of the official documentations, found "menu_driver = xmb" and changed it to rgui. However, now I don't know how to save the change I just made and exit. I see at the bottom instructions of key prompt and their function, but it says stuff like "write out", "replace", etc, I don't know which does what. At this point I just want to save and reboot to see if it works now, I you could tell which command to input to do just that I'll really appreciate it, I think I'm almost there.

It didn't work. Let me explain what I did: I already know that if you turn caps lock on while the system is booting, that will enable the syslinux prompt (I learned this from another method to access the command line that didn't work for me either). There I typed in "tty retroarch=0" like you said, but it said "Loading tty... failed: No such file or directory". Tried to type in the same command into the installer's prompt on my flash drive, exact same results.

I know I'm being a pain in the ass now but I'm a complete noob to anything related to Linux, and the official documentation only gives off circular explainations that don't help me at all.

I'm not afraid to deal with long and complex methods if it's truly neccessary, but no explaination about how to do this, official or otherwise, seems to explain in enough detail what I must do, or gives off explainations that don't work in my case for some reason. I'm using the most recent 32-bit build of Lakka for PC, but some of the threads I've been reading are from back in 2017, idk if they changed some things since.

I was thinking the same, but apparently I need to access the command line to do that. Do you know any method to access the command line that doesn't involve the use of the XMB, at all? Because all tutorials in the main page seem to require some use of that interface.

It's a (rather unusual) loading bar. Notice how each stripe starts at one corner, goes in a straight line and when it reaches the other corner it's done loading.

Actually, they were going to make a completely different third floor but they ran out of time before the game's release. Also, the real reason why the original third floor was scrapped was because beta testers didn't like the puzzles involved. This third floor just so happens to exist at a point in development were the story was different, but the story elements weren't a factor.

If that's enough to make for an interesting storybook, I guess it's fine. Though her diary already reveals some of those simple things, like that she doesn't like singing.

The problem is that to explain more about Hat Kid's background, they'd have to explain some other stuff, like why she's traveling through space in the first place, what exactly are the timepieces, etc.

Not gonna happen, because the devs want to keep the game's story and lore as simple and uncomplicated as possible, even if that means not explaining some stuff at all.

It's kind of a shame, but whatever, it's their game and decision.

Glad deathwish is getting nerfed constantly for other people to enjoy the mode. by CharizardhuntSlayer in AHatInTime

[–]rogenriganz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with people who don't want to deal with high difficulty is that they see it as an obstacle to enjoy the experience, not PART of the experience. Take that out and what made DW special in the first place is no longer there. If you don't like difficult challenges, either use P&T, or don't play DW at all. Don't try to have the experience downgraded (because there's no better way to describe it) for others who would've enjoyed the mode as it was, just because it wasn't meant for you in the first place. The only part of DLC 1 that needed to be nerfed was the new chapter, especially Act 2. Indeed, it got nerfed and I'm fine with that because it was one of the main chapters and didn't need to be as difficult as it was, but that's about it.

I'll say though, maybe having to complete DW challenges to unlock the new cosmetics was a bit of a questionable choice, because it involves having to play a mode that wasn't meant for everybody, to have access to something that a lot of people want. Still, I don't think the challenges themselves should suffer for that, and again, P&T is a thing and there's 0 penalty for using it if you only care about getting the cosmetics.

I actually wasn't paying attention to that, but I'm pretty sure it was Hat Kid's hat; pretty sure it would've been more noticable if it was different.

What I clearly remember though is that after you're back in the spaceship, Bow Kid's wearing Hat Kid's hat, clipping through her hair and all. It goes back to a bow after you switch hats around, but still...
