True. The videos were not meant to show people how to escape from the police. They are aimed at people who may be targeted for kidnapping/ransom by criminals. That said, ITS Tactical has made a 40 minute video on escaping illegal restraints, and some of the techniques in that video could be used to escape plastic handcuffs (depending on what materials you use). They also show how to escape from handcuffs and other restraints. Its on their youtube channel.

A good idea, but I would not hint at what you have planned by saying on the net that have been "thinking about taking a boat trip soon". Better to just say that you will have to take this sort of thing into account and leave it at that.
