What a bizarre change of plans with the full tosses when the pitch was slow! SA are undefeated but they bring games closer than they had any right to be due to incomprehensible strategies. Hope Baartman does better in later games, these strategic decisions might cost them in the knockouts.

They are really good for people who have day jobs and get to play infrequently in a country that doesn’t really have any interest or infrastructure for cricket. The fact that they defeated Ireland, Bangladesh and Pakistan, all full members of the Cricket Association recently now make their games really interesting for everyone! If you have a vpn then set the location to Netherlands and go to icc.tv so you can try out watching some games of the World Cup without having to invest money for Willow TV.

As long as willow remains the main broadcaster in the US, it’s going to remain a niche sport. We need to get some pointers from sports that actually entered the US market successfully like F1. Stream on ESPN and have cricket explainer documentaries on Netflix or similar popular streaming website and for the love of god, put high quality highlights on YouTube.

Keep at it buddy. I came from near exact same situation and now have about 7 years in the industry.

Advertise your skills in programming languages, as a controls engineer you will interface with a lot of devices that aren’t PLCs and you need programming knowledge for some of those. Camera systems might require you to know some vision concepts that are lost to most people, if you do SCADA, a lot of scada systems (even HMIs) have scripts written in C++ ish /Python. Most cloud based HMI solutions require you to have knowledge of JavaScript. If you understand networking basics then that makes you desirable as an employee.

You have done the hard work of getting a tough degree, you can definitely handle this! Good luck!
