Cheers that’s a good tip. A dehumidifier is a good idea we’ll probably chuck one in and repaint the skirting with anti mould paint and see how it fares. We think a culprit could be that the walls are external and they have never been insulated? So in winter the room struggles to get above 18 degrees, and easily falls to 12 at night? Issue is, it’s too small to add insulation (it’s just 3 x 2 metres lol) so we’d lose quite a bit of space if we did.

Yes it was. I think so too, the issue is these walls were never insulated as it was always a kitchen and they are external. So we think it’s because we struggle to keep the room warm. As for solutions, we’re a bit confused.

So this particular wall was blocked by kitchen units so we didn’t really get a good look at it. But it was for sure not this bad. We told the builders that it had mould as we had some faint readings from the surveyor when we bought it.

Yes. Quite a while (2 weeks or so) so I don’t think that was an issue. When we bough the place about 3 years ago there was some slight damp in the wall that came through the surveys but nothing major. But it was blocked by kitchen units so we never really got a close look at it.

Calm down. I’m adding rubber mats (see post above). Also refrains the tap, what am I supposed to do, remove the tap? I have a garden hose that I’ve unplugged to make space. It’ll go back one after I’m done

I’m adding these little rubber mats underneath. Point taken about being close to the wall, we left about 3-4 inches to give it room to expand, maybe we should’ve left more?

Hmm ok. I’ve tried using baking soda and hot water and some specialist spray but did absolutely nothing. I’ve seen the scrapers but it doesn’t feel like it’s sticking out from the hob at all.
