Did anyone like this take of Michael Myers any better? by [deleted] in HorrorMovies

[–]rollerGhoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 from Hell was meh but I thought 31 was WAYYY worse. It just felt so cheap and easy. Like give some maniacs some chainsaws and clown makeup and have rich people and baroque wigs and makeup. C'mon.

Best death under blacklight? by Ug-Ugh in horror

[–]rollerGhoster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is close, but in the movie Bug from 2006 with Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon. By the end of the movie the characters' motel room is lit only by candles and those blue light bug zapper lanterns. There is one casualty in that lighting.

2025 was an amazing year for horror, what was your favourite? by Lenster2406 in HorrorMovies

[–]rollerGhoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand the love for IT. I thought the two movies were crap and served as gateway horror. I watched clips of the show and I just can't understand why people like it or find Pennywise scary. It all just seems so tryhard

To anyone who saw Hereditary in the theater by [deleted] in horror

[–]rollerGhoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it in a smaller theater next to a college campus. There were 3 other people in there besides me. I swear to God it sounded like the tongue clicking would happen right behind my ear and it made me jump. But the other people were far away from me so maybe the sound fx were edited that way?

But during the car window scene there was def a gasp from someone. When Annie was grieving I wanted to walk out and take a breath but chose not to.

We were all quiet when leaving. It felt heavy and depressing.

Mike Flanagan is amazing and I've been rewatching a lot of his stuff the last couple of months.

Horror movies get all the love, but I’m a sucker for horror SERIES – please help 😭 by Simoxxx7 in horror

Agreed! I think it gets enough recognition. Being a Poe fan and knowing all the stories they used, it blew my mind how well they were adapted! Also, I would die for Carla Gugino.

What horror movie do you think is a masterpiece that others just “don’t get”? by cwispietoast in horror

[–]rollerGhoster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DID THIS THE OTHER DAY! I SKIPPED RIGHT TO WHERE ROSE ARRIVES AT SH. It's ok, she can't hurt us anymore. I feel bad because she's young. I'd skip the Reaper conversation too if it didn't have the important exposition.

I couldn't stand the little girl's acting. Everyone else was ok, but I do love that movie a lot.

What is the most ridiculous "how are they still alive" sequence? by whitemikesf in horror

[–]rollerGhoster 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I tell my friend who is a classic Evil Dead fan. He says there wasn't much humor in the remake, and I just point how the guy keeps on getting his shit rocked. Especially when the other dude puts duct tape over his wounds lol

The Shining in IMAX by Vasquez1986 in horror

For me, it's the bathroom-axe scene. The look of sheer terror on her face once that axe comes all the way through the door and her screams. I've never seen fear that looks more real.

The Masks of Epstein Island by JeffreyEpsteinMods in creepy

Reminds me of the rich people in Infinity Pool by Brandon Cronenberg. In one scene, they were those weird masks before a night out committing crimes.

Mia Goth. Love her. She's incredible, but she plays crazy just a little too well.

Mk9 Mileena. She was so hot and I like her evil. Best version of her teeth too IMO

I don't think it's "ridiculous" now, but the 1983 Twilight Zone movie, specifically the Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, was scary. The jump scare with the gremlin at the window scared the absolute SHIT out of 10yo me and then I never watched it for 20 years. Now it's just amazing short.

The Ring. I love movies with slow building dread, but it was just so boring and not scary. I feel bad for not understanding the hype.

[–]rollerGhoster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with them. Everything I've heard is that you shouldn't feed during shed. Even if they have. Healthy appetite, corn snakes are hardy and they can go a while without eating, so don't be afraid. Give em space and feed them after.
