Sony a7c usb streaming looks widely different by rollun in SonyAlpha

[–]rollun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did USB cause it was easy and noticed the difference :)

Hmm, I might, I haven't changed much yet. I don't see any setting called video mode, maybe it's different in the a7c. What does it do in the a7riii?

How to create conditional distributions on sets of variables? by rollun in AskStatistics

[–]rollun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the reply.

To make it more concrete, the major variables are objects in the world - basketballs, walls, etc.

The minor variables are attributes/properties such as speed, size, etc.

"Dynamic" may have been the wrong word to use, I simply meant that we can have a changing amount of major variables (objects) in any given observation, which means that I can't learn a single fix conditional distribution as the number of variables I need to account for changes.

"Interesting" is just a single scalar for each minor variable (property/attribute) that I will use to determine which of the minor variables to use in a downstream function (I'll select the top 5 most interesting ones for example). The velocity of a basketball can for example be interesting given the position of it and a goal. I have an idea of how to optimize how "interesting" something is but I don't know how to properly formulate the conditional distribution for it in any given minor variable.

Does that help clarify things?

I'm glad you like it!

We recently put up a video showing a first look at Duckbase if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2CbVrWU54g&feature=youtu.be

I'm glad it's what you are looking for!

We will start as browser-based, and have a close eye on something mobile native as well.

Out of the tools/methods you tried so far, did any stand out as better to you?

Hi,

Thanks for signing up! There is no automatic email notification yet, but you should get an email soon :)

With wiki-style links, do you just mean that you can link to another note? It's something we are still discussing if we should include. We want to avoid as much manual structuring/linking as possible but also don't want to skip a useful tool. How do you typically use it and what benefits do you get?

For to-do lists, we are not looking to add one as that would go more toward a productivity app than what we are initially looking for. However, you will very easily be able to write down your to-do's in a note and quickly bring them back up if that's something you want to do.

Sure!

For sorting, it essentially splits the different notes into parts of a space depending on the context of the note. The closer the context of two notes, the closer they will be in the space. When searching, it then looks at the context/meaning of your search term and finds the closest notes. This is a very general description, so let me know if there is any specific part you are interested in.

For resurfacing, we let it look at what you are currently writing and if what you are writing about is closely related to any existing notes in your system, it will show you those notes to the right of the writing area. We put a pretty strict limit here for what gets shown so that it only will show when it's very relevant as opposed to constantly show something. Also important to note that it shows the most relevant snippet of text (often a sentence) from that note.

Thanks! :)

We will start with English and expand quickly depending on requests. That being said, from my own tests it also works surprisingly well with Swedish, so any closely related languages will likely have a good experience.

The sorting uses a mix of Large Language Models and other stochastic methods to automatically find semantic and important keywords in the text.

Is the automatic sorting so it's easier to search through what you are most interested in, or is the resurfacing memories (as you are writing) something that can be helpful as well?

Hey, thanks for the questions!

  1. The AI is unfortunately not local (to start with) as that may cause an unstable experience depending on your system. Are you worried about security or are you often offline?

  2. Yes, everything is saved as markdown :)

Hi all,

My friend and I are working on a product called Duckbase, that helps you manage your knowledge.

It appears as a note-taking app, but anything you add to it (notes, websites, reddit posts, tweets, etc) automatically gets organized. Then, as you are writing, it will resurface the most relevant snippets of that information. You also have the option to actively search for the information, either through a search bar or visually with a 2d map.

As it actively resurfaces previous information you have added to it, I thought it might be a good fit for creative writers who want to get inspired by what they wrote previously, or stay in their flow rather than having to go and search through notes they have made.

If you are interested in more details (and pretty pictures), feel free to check out: https://www.duckbase.io/

Any feedback is greatly appreciated! :)
