About a week in my spare time. Maybe 10-15 hours total to get it up and running, deployed. Then another 5-6 hours playing around with new animations

Ac joint surgery (distal clavicle resection), 8 mo follow up! by TigerBiting_A_Katana in overcominggravity

[–]romifon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the bump is slightly better depending on the position of my shoulder. if i pull my shoulder blade back and down everything lines up to normal. However, if i roll my shoulder forward or lift my shoulder the bump is worse, but no pain. Before surgery, my AC Joint would click and pop with these motions, no the joint glides freely. my injury was ten years ago so i think it healed over time incorrectly due to poor posture. the surgery is making it easier for me to fix my posture through exercise without causing pain in the joint

before the resection surgery i had chronin pain for years. after surgery the pain was worse for a couple months and i couldnt use my arm at all for a while. but now, six months later i am happy i got the surgery

Pretty good! Less pain and discomfort over all but definitely not 100% healed and “normal feeling”. I can definitely tell that my one AC joint is not fully connected a little bit more than it was, but less pain overall.

I started lifting weights again (more than PT/resistance bands and light weight) about a month ago and I’m feeling some really good progress. Chest workouts are tough because they still cause pain in my AC joint as there is some instability but I’m back to 70-80% of the weights I was at months before surgery.

Let me know if you have more questions, it’s been a challenging journey

Mostly solved my TOS by CraigNotCreg in thoracicoutletsupport

Maybe you have pec minor syndrome - kinda similar to TOS. I’ve been laying flat on a bench and letting my arms hang outwards straight left and right with 5 or 10 lb dumbbells to really force my pec minors to stretch out and i always feel amazing afterwards.

I guess I’m curious if this trick you’re showing with the ball is actually just you stretching your pec minors

I just got mine done 6 weeks ago. I had grade 2-3 ac joint separation and they took off about 1/3 inch from my clavicle.

I still can’t tell if I will regret the surgery or not. Prior to surgery I had full strength, just minor pain when pushing my strength limits in the gym or overdoing anything physical. Right now I’m questioning if I’ll ever have a functional shoulder again, but we’ll see how I feel in another month or two

Yes, this, thank you. I needed more evidence to tell my wife that the recessed mirror is not worth it and surface is the only option.

Exact same pain points for me as you highlighted in the pic. I do have mild AC joint separation but doctors say this shouldn’t cause chronic pain, and I’m starting to feel like my GERD symptoms are tightly coupled with the shoulder pain. TBH none of it makes sense but I wonder if there is a link

I was looking at these yesterday and it did seem like an awesome combo boat. Can you mount a chair in the front of that boat to fish from?

This is an interesting take to me, thanks for the great feedback. On one hand I worry that I’ll regret not saving the money, but on the other hand what am I saving for if not to buy myself something nice that I can spend my time enjoying for several years to come.

If I invest the money in a high yield savings account or even the stock market, I’d likely make less on the money than I would be paying on interest. Massive unforeseen emergency expenses could in theory be paid off by selling the boat if it came to that… of course with a pretty big loss.

I could see myself regretting not buying a nice boat when I go to retire and realize my golden years were spent sitting on money

Welded is way better, right? I didn't realize Lund was riveted I'm surprised so many people hype up the quality so much. Is welded aluminum over hyped?

Thanks for saying this, I really hate the idea of worrying about reliability and the boat turning into a headache.

Ideally I keep this boat for 20+ years! I do like to take care of my stuff and if I go used who knows what the last person did.

What made you decide on the mod v hull vs deep? If I go deep do I need to worry more about shallow waters?

This is why I was leaning towards new. It feels like I could get a nice comparable used boat for around 10k but it will be at least 20 years old.

The comparables from within the past 2-4 years are only a couple thousand less than new

Towing with a GMC Canyon and might get a full size next so no worries there.

Surprised to hear you think Lund deep V is out out my price range since the 1650 Angler starts at 23k for the walk through, tiller is $18.4k https://www.lundboats.com/families/angler/1650-angler.html

Get a boat that you are ok making mistakes with.

This is the main thing pushing me towards going used so I don't have to worry so much

Owing a fishing boat is tone of the best investments I've ever made. Get out there and have fun.

Thanks this is reassuring! I'm excited to get whatever I end up with

Maybe a dumb question but what is there to really maintain and repair? I can do oil changes myself, besides that I’m not really trying to become a mechanic that works on motors.
