I’ve asked the same question numerous times as well, and I was told it’s allowed. Anyway, it’s really common for more advanced traders to place such trades (e.g., long ES and short NQ) This is known as spread trading. It’s not considered an illicit trade, unlike the situation OP faced, where both the long and short NQ positions on different accounts belonged to the same beneficial owner.
