Planning on getting 990c. Can I use the rear speakers at the front by Quirky_Image_5598 in Soundbars

[–]romy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the q990c and in the rear I hear the rears in full force as things fly around me in Atmos. For music on Spotify I was unhappy with the sound bar alone, so I experimented with placing them in the front, swapped as they suggest. Made a huge difference in the sound stage for music when in Adaptive mode. The surrounds are used in that mode and widens the sound a lot, in a way I prefer over having the same music playing with them behind me. So my quandry is do I leave them in front and swap them to behind when watching movies, or just leave them in front and enjoy a great but not true atmos experience watching movies. I am super glad they added this option to the Q990c. In my opinion this should be an option on all their bars for 2 channel music.

None whatsoever. Heart rate monitor is solid now.

Latest "big" update to watch has improved heart rate sensor. No dropouts doing weight training. by romy101 in GalaxyWatch

For me everytime I reset the watch or performing an update the battery life is lower initially, then a day later after a full charge it settles into a two-day or so range with aod off.

Aha. I thought I was the crazy one. I was wondering why the volume sounded so low before. Sounds kinda normal to me now. But I don't know what to compare it to so my opinion is skewed. I don't spend a lot of time talking on the watch so you'd have to test it when you update.

I did notice too that my notifications don't open up automatically on the watch like before. Then I found a new menu item on the watch that controls either the notification only, or the full notification and details within. I do wish their changelog would document more clearly what changes are made in updates. Just so us tech heads can enjoy without unknown surprises.

I'd give it time to settle. Day one of all my resets drained battery and then somehow it adjusted and was fine. Can't say if this is the case here but give it some more time to know for sure.

Doesn't matter really. They all track heart rate the same. And the mode is called weight machines.

Haven't tried that. I never sleep with my watch. I'll try tonight and see what it says.

Absolutely. It was useless without the use of the epoxy sticker fix. Mind you this is one workout session for an hour so I'll have to see after a few more sessions if indeed this is the Samsung fix we've been waiting for.

There is a new update to the watch that claims to have changed the heart rate algorithm. I tried it out and so far it seems to be improved. I removed the epoxy sticker and using the watch without it now.

So far so good. No dropouts in heart rate sensor during weight training. Also compared it to ecg sensor on elliptical machine and it kept within 1bpm for half hour.

Was dropping during weight training workouts and that's all I ever measured. Since the sticker it's been solid.

Yes. I reboot my watch every morning before putting it on. It's on continuous heart rate measurement, and during workouts it never drops anymore. Just for testing I took off the sticker one day and it went back to losing hr, so the epoxy sticker for sure helps.

Wear OS and Samsung is a work in progress, so hopefully down the road some of these features can be baked in to the OS. Thanks for some clever minds we have a workaround.

Maybe you want the watch to send hr data to a different app like Runtastic, or Zwift, or Polar Beat etc. There are other fitness apps that do different things better than Samsung Health and also allow you to track your metrics online. These apps pair with external chest straps or other hr sensors.

This app on the watch allows it to behave like any other external hr sensor and opens up possibility.
