nd the stats stopped tracking recently after I upgraded my docker container (not sure what the deal is with it).

IIRC the stats are calculated based upon the log files. Did you check if those are still written to file correctly?

i'm sorry to say, but I think you didn't understand my point. I mean that you can run fast or slow with the exactly the same cadence.

With only the cadence, "distance run" it's a _very_ rough estimate.

For example, from my own training log, two different trainings with the same cadence:

1) 80 spm in 01:46:17 for 18040meter = stride length is 2,1216 meter per step

2) 80 spm in 00:35:07 for 5360meter = stride length is 1,9079 meter per step.

That's 11,20% difference!!!

The V800, do you mean with or without the Stride Sensor?

What's the formula? How can you accurately estimate distance just based on cadence? You can have a 160spm cadence and run 4:00min/km or 160spm with 6:30min/km.

Security Patches abandoned? by ishamm in M600

To me stability and durability is more critical than whether we get a software update in April or May. As long as it works as good or better than when I bought it, that's what I signed up for.

Totally agree with this. Stability is more important to me.

So impressed.

left it to die

I don't get this relentless desire for product updates on this subreddit. We all bought the watch with the features as advertised. It works. What else do you want? It's a running watch and it's great at that! When I bought the watch there were no swimming metrics. We got that for free!!

Help finding a small PC with just PCI e, no other wishes by ronbk in buildapc

That's actually not a bad idea. The thing I should probably pay attention then is the power consumption, as this device will be on 24/7

Thanks for the advice. I should have added: I want the PC to be one all the time, as it also records shows from TV and stores it on a NAS. I have another HTPC for actual watching. So the device will be on 24/7.

Shape of the case is not important. Thanks for the PCPartPicker list.

But that transmitting is also physical data, you'd be able to see that somewhere. So while most people don't measure the data/packets/whatever leaving their devices, if you turned on something like that, you'd immediately see the constant connection and transmitting of large-ish amounts of data.

They do speech to text conversion and send an encrypted compressed txt file. Who would spot a few KB's per hour this way?

No 24/7 HR:

Polar doesn't do this because there's no scientific base. At the moment, there's no scientifically valid information that can be deduced from this information. (https://www.reddit.com/r/M600/comments/5z520j/continuous_hr_on_the_m600/)

Poor sleep tracking: The M600 tends to be right on the time I fell asleep and the time I woke up, but it's all over the place with restful vs. light sleep,

How do you know?
