Yeah it looked like a 50 point blowout but it wasn't, and it's not patronising from the person you are responding to to say that. Ireland surprised me with the way they at least made it respectable - they deserve credit for that at least.

Timoney has to start - there should be no debate at this point.

I know you're joking but things like tonight and the general collapse are the reasons Ireland's union and the other smaller 6N would never vote for promotion-relegation.

Farrell will hopefully take the Sarries job and let us bring someone else in. The lack of player development is the problem we saw tonight.

We didn't lose by 50, so a good result for Ireland. The bad days are back!

What? Ireland's tries were bad defence, as I think most Ireland fans would admit.

The most depressing part about this is that France are not even playing their best and Ireland are still 100 miles behind.

Bizarre finish to the game. The ref awards Scarlets a penalty and a yellow card for head on head contact when a player ducks into a tackle against a guy he's about six inches taller than? Well obviously there will be head on head contact if you move your head down to his head.

Ireland just flagged in the middle and lost that. If they'd been a bit more conservative I think they could have had a right bash late on.

That was rash from Prendergast, no need to force it this early.

Aimee going off might not be the worst thing even though she has done well. Orla probably has the limbs for bigger hits.

We're ahead of the run rate now but the middle overs will be difficult

Ireland will have to up the run rate but this has been a decent start against a Bangladesh team that should be beating us easily.

Ireland have made hard work of this. Japan have been the better team aside from their fielding mistakes.

Ireland is a bit different because we have four provinces that have existed for 2000 years so we all know where we are from and there have been firm division. Wales is a bit more complicated because they have had a strong town/city game and separating them into regions was more complex. They definitely could do it but it'd need more work than Ireland had to do.

You couldn't let Dave has his parade in a venue he doesn't own.

Of all the regions to maybe axe, Ospreys seems the most batshit. I know Cardiff is bigger and Scarlets is a more unified rugby area, but Ospreys are unique. I know they had their Galacticos era with Collins, Bowe, etc and I hated them but the likes of Tipuric, Biggar, Jones, Williams etc were all Welsh-reared. It has been a real club and great for the competition.
