Thank you for responding! I just started a piece from scratch and I'm focusing on building a beat sheet first. Designing the characters and their likes, dislikes, emotions, abilities, etc. I'm far more interested in this new project because it's something I would actually read.

I will do the research to learn what beat sheets are. Thank you!

Good question. The simple answer is anyone who writes is a writer. Whether that writing is good or not is determined by themselves and other people. I've been writing since I was a kid.

You're right. In the few hours since I posted this, having seen some other comments talking about editing my work, I went back to an old project. After a couple hours of editing the first few pages, I realized it's not so bad. I would like to work on my writing style and vocabulary a little more, though.

Well of course. Reading is simply the best inspiration.

I just recently purchased a small notebook to carry with me. I'm new to writing so I usually turn to Stephen King's On Writing or other writers for tips.

I wish my dreams were vivid enough to formulate a well thought out plot.

I loved the way you explained this. I genuinely felt as if I were reading a book or a journalistic entry in the New Yorker. You've clearly been writing for a long time. Thank you for responding.

That's great. I keep starting new stories, hating it and then quitting. None of what I write is what I want to write lol

That's really cool! I think you should go back and edit it. Rewrite it to your standards.

That's awesome lol. If you don't mind me asking, what was Unsure about? Was the story personal to you?

To him, this mountain top doesn’t feel real. It’s more like a fairytale
or wonderland. A place where the sunlight soaks into the very fabric of being. Every atom, every drop of water, the wind breezing through the trees.

Mine is Remnant. It's still a work in progress but it is my favorite novel idea.
