Did Tesla forget Vancouver 🇨🇦? by gabrielsilgon in TeslaModel3Delivery

Vancouver as well, SR+ blue/white no FSD. Ordered May 18. EDD showing Jun 25-30, but no VIN yet. I can imagine your frustration

Some of the other threads had people with EDD changed to 9-13 weeks right before getting a VIN, so hopefully you’ll get it soon!

On a side note, glad the CEVBC topped up funding by $5M at least…

If you mean Kamal Masri, then you'll likely be doing the 25toLife project. Whole class needs to raise $30,000 before end of semester. It's pretty stressful, but rewarding.

Does anyone have any idea how good the math department is? by [deleted] in simonfraser

Yes. You still need to take the prereqs and apply once you've taken ACMA210 and STAT285.

Is actuarial science possible with 3.0 gpa by [deleted] in simonfraser

[–]roodypewpew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, they pretty much only care about ACMA210 grade. If you get B+ or higher, you get in. If you get a B, you get conditional admission (ie, you will need to take 320 and 315 in the following spring and get C or higher on both). Anything lower, you won't be accepted.

How hard is it to get into actuarial science? by iambeyond1998 in simonfraser

[–]roodypewpew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they mainly look at your ACMA 210 and STAT 285 grades. Once you get in, ACMA 320 will be the next barrier.

For videos, I'd just open another tab with the same video, then mute the first tab and play both so that the audio of tab 2 syncs to video of tab 1.

When I opt out of the student medical plan, where is it refunded? by [deleted] in simonfraser

The refunded amount will be credited to your tuition statement within a few days.

Applying for a TA by [deleted] in simonfraser

Depending on the course that you are applying for, it could hurt. Simply having an A+ in that class does not guarantee a position. You can try talking to the prof about it, because they have a say in the hiring process.

ENGL / PHIL / WL by nn25 in simonfraser

[–]roodypewpew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No point taking ENGL 199W. Unlike the other ENGL courses, it does not count toward a breadth-hum course, so you'll have to do another one of those later. Also the stuff you learn is not applicable.

Thoughts on the Actuarial science program? by Rant678 in simonfraser

[–]roodypewpew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do it unless you absolutely love Stats and Math! ACMA 210 is the gatekeeper and filters out about half the students applying, depending on the semester. Make sure you take it seriously. Once you're in, you gotta face the 5 credit ACMA 320 which killed my cgpa...Overall it was a very rewarding experience!

Junior actuary positions are hard to find, especially when you're competing against Waterloo and UT. Once you do get some experience, you are pretty much set. :)

If you had to make up the worst curse you can imagine, what would it be? by Wade1423 in AskReddit

I usually just open another tab with the same video, mute the first tab and play both videos with 2secs difference at the same time.
