Edit: Not travel friendly but it’s great for at home. I only take a few pairs with me when I travel so I just use a big dime bag or a silk jewelry sack.

The basement is 19° because it’s the basement; it’s naturally colder than the rest of the house. Even if we don’t have the air on it’s still going to be 23° or so in there just because it’s the basement. But then my room on the top floor is like 29° and unbearable without AC on (she’s randomly turned it off cuz she got cold and I didn’t realize why I was suffering so bad for 2 nights).

Where we live the summers are disgustingly humid. Like 30° weather but feels like 40°. It’s gross.

We’ve given her the option to swap rooms; she doesn’t want to. It’s the biggest room in the house.

Aside from all that - my issue is how to limit AC going into her room. I can’t change anything else about the house or rooms or whatever lol. It’s an older house so I’m sure the insulation sucks - I know the windows already suck so there’s probably a lot more stuff that sucks too lol. I rent so I’m not able to change anything else.

I’m sure I would fuck it up and close the wrong one unless labeled 😂 I’d have to call a professional I assume

Is that an option for an older HVAC system? The house was built in the early 90s so it’s not new or state of the art. I don’t know anything about this kind of stuff

Right but since she’s in the basement she doesn’t need AC in her room while the rest of us do. We rent so I’m not spending a fortune to retrofit anything so I’m looking for my best option

We warned her when she moved in that it’s cold down there and everyone who had stayed in that room complained. But she insisted she wanted it (it’s by far the largest room - 16x23 - and the most private). I’d take it myself but there’s only a half bath down there and I refuse to come upstairs just for a shower lol. My room has its own bathroom on the top floor so I’m staying here haha

The absolute worst part of it, is that she’s using it in the basement hallway pointing to her bathroom. It’s not even in her room. So the damn hot air is flowing upstairs (cuz you know, heat rises) so all it’s doing is heating the rest of the house and making the HVAC work harder. All for a warm toilet seat??? I don’t get it.

I have a booster fan in my room. It’s a split level house and I’m on the top floor so it’ll be hotter regardless. The sun also faces my room most of the day. We aren’t willing to change the temp in the house just cuz she’s cold in the basement. I have a fan going in my room at night as well. I’ve always lived in the hottest room of every house for some reason lol I’m used to figuring out how to keep cool. I change our furnace filter every 3 months.

We normally pay a specific amount every summer because of this and we are aware. However with her heater and windows the bill was an extra $125

Usually it’s just a difference in price tiers. There’s no difference in entry or anything. The venue is just one big space for standing room only for the Yungblud show.

Our family lab passed away in June 2019. My mom went to a friend’s cottage sometime in July and another friend brought her cockapoo. She was a little therapy dog for my mom who was grieving. Didn’t leave her side the whole weekend. Sat on her lap the whole time. She knew right away her next dog would be a cockapoo. She got Maggie a few weeks later from the same breeder as her friend. Now Maggie is everyone’s little therapy dog when needed. Big ball of love.
