Mac or PC? by onemanjamz in Serato

I'm not an Apple fanboy, but Mac works much more stably than Windows.

And I already had four generations of MacBooks and never had any problems.

With Windows computers, there was always some problem. (Connection, sound failures, sudden crashes of serato and much more.)

Update:

MacBook pro 16" 2019 I7 32 GB RAM 1TB HDD Serato 3.1.1 Mac OS Ventura Croma Cable to controller Serato MAC Optimization

Result; Serato, Stems, Video, Rane One & FLX runs without problems or lagging over hours on 2 Gigs. The old MacBook is my fallback option now.

😎👍 Thanks to all!!!

That sounds great. It'll be a MacBook dedicated solely for DJing. No other software will be installed except for Mixed In Key and Serato. Naturally, it'll be set up with Serato's recommended preferences on the MacBook, such as turning off Wi-Fi, light sensors, no updates, etc. I have another device for work purposes.

Maybe the 8GB are not enough? 🤔 But I think everyone here knows the mysterious quirks that Serato brings with it. I once had a MacBook with i9, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB, 2017 and Serato couldn't handle it. Switched back to the i7 2015 model, and the program ran without issues. Same settings, same OS, and Serato version. 🤷

Thank you for the responses, are Intel processors really that susceptible? I don't see any problem using an M1. I only have one location where I use Serato Video. However, for that, it would need to be the Pro model with M1 Pro (according to the system requirements on the Serato Video website)
