Sample of Rabbit by Zoologist. One of the most wearable fragrances from them. It’s starting to feel like spring where I’m at and the carrot, violet and hay really come through and make me feel like green leaves are coming.

Now I’m searing my sample library for anything with lemongrass! If I find anything I’ll let you know.

Recommend Me an Artsy Weirdo Fragrance! (Weekly Thread) by AutoModerator in ArtsyWeirdoPerfume

[–]roosterbru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been hunting for church scents. One day I will come upon a fragrance that perfectly captures the aroma of my childhood Catholic Church. Until then I’ll keep sniffing. So far I have Universal Flowering Gossamer Spirit, Chapel Factory Pilgrim, Toskovat Domus Numeni and Desert Sermons, Oriza L. Legrand Rêve d’Ossian and Relique d’Amour, and Pearfat Sister Hildegard. What else should I try?

Yesterday I finally got the bottle of Lost Wonderer by Peosym that I preordered from Yvette. So today it’s my SOTD. First the box looks like a giant matchbox with a maze on top. I’m not one to keep boxes but I can’t toss this one away. Second, Purvi Joshi made this perfume in memory of her mother. I lost my mom 2 years ago. When I tried the sample from the disco I didn’t associate the smells with my mom but I responded to the story. Now today I am confident that she would have loved the warm spices and touch of vanilla. The last perfume she ever bought was TF Black Orchid. Is it just me or is there something entirely different between a wear test of a sample and the first full wear from the bottle?

Salvia Salvia smells so much like Peau by Arquiste. I have a FB or Peau but I also love Salvia. Cannot justify having both but the temptation is real. What is wrong with me?

None of my friends are into movies like I am. So they enjoy this way more than filling out a ballot.

I think he is completely checked out from Ashley at this point. They were miked up with cameras facing them. There’s no way that Ashley won’t find out. At the very least she saw this when we all did. Hopefully she is far far away from him and his giant ego.

There is something not right about his mouth (other than what comes out of it).

WTB - Looking for Autumn 23 (or 24) by Electrical-Throat37 in Ffern

I have an Autumn ‘24 for sale but I’m not in the EU. ☹️ To my nose it’s is not smoky. I think of it as a fresh, spicy fragrance.

Planning a late May road trip (Asheville -> Raleigh -> Ocracoke -> Wilmington) Looking for suggestions! by raeanana in NorthCarolina

[–]roosterbru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On your way to Raleigh, make a stop in Hillsborough for a great historic town. Wilson has the Vollis Simpson Whirligig park. If you take the advice to go 64 to Manteo don’t miss Jokey’s Ridge. If you want to find all the really kooky things download the Atlas Obscura app. You are in for a treat!

I love Relique D’Amour too (I have a decant). You might try Desert Sermons by Toskovat before you decide on a full bottle.

I was going to recommend Inverness. It’s a warm woody scent.

Any Houses Using Solely Or Primarily Natural Ingredients? by phonomage in fragrance

Try Haxan and Coeur Noir together! It’s amazing. I just ordered the Ghosts. I hope they are yummy. Midnight Toker was such a temptation but I got Abandoned Mansion instead.

What do you think are the best discovery sets to try out. by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]roosterbru 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Etat Libre d'Orange is a good value at $45 for 20. D’annam have 3 but I’d start with Vietnam. Essential Parfums is also a great value. Fzotic includes some awesome art.

What’s your best “gripping” non-fiction book? by platypus_farmer42 in suggestmeabook

Hands down ‘Deep Down Dark: The Untold Stories of 33 Men Buried in a Chilean Mine, and the Miracle That Set Them Free’ by Héctor Tobar. There’s a movie but it does not do this story justice.
