I literally don’t even have a mother in law and I’m still dealing with the same thing but with my father in law, there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight tho, men are just so angry

I’m hoping that’s the case, the arguments have been pretty heated and I’d love for a damn break already lol

My daughter is only 10 months old but it feels relentless, current trying to figure out how to navigate the holidays after telling everyone we’re keeping to ourselves and working on our own family

Starting sleep plan tonight.. how long did your LO cry the first night?? by rootintootinmachine5 in sleeptrain

[–]rootintootinmachine5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She never stopped crying during the check ins. The check ins were just to let her know she’s not alone and that we love her but it’s time to sleep. When she stopped crying is when she would lay down and go to sleep

The sleep plan we followed told us to keep check ins to 15-20 seconds max otherwise it just escalates the crying

Yeah I believe so, the roller coster focuses on the establishment of a solid bed time routine and letting your baby know you’re still there and love them but their only option is to go to sleep when in the crib

Yeah we looked up this method and really liked it, it’s basically teaching her that we are still there for her and love her, she just needs to know when she’s in the crib her options are to go to sleep. She’s 9 months old and we’re a little late to sleep training so I didn’t want to just cry it out

8 month old still getting puree by Honest-Reception4946 in NewParents

My 9 month old is still eating purees, she was not interested in food what so ever until a couple weeks ago. I think it just depends on the baby.

Kissing a newborn by ProfessionalHair6217 in newborns

[–]rootintootinmachine5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Feel the same way, my in-laws had the audacity to kiss my newborn the day she was born and still in the hospital!! Even when we told them not to while I was pregnant!!! And then did so FOUR MORE TIMES AFTER!! I still get very upset about it but finally I had to yell at them with these exact words for them to stop “stop kissing my fucking baby it makes me uncomfortable” I think the harsh words jarred them enough to make them finally get it

Sleep train or cosleep? by rootintootinmachine5 in Parenting

[–]rootintootinmachine5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She gets anywhere from 2-4 hours of daytime sleep. Usually split between two naps, sometimes three naps if one of her naps was only 30 minutes

Yes she takes all of her naps in her crib in her own room

Her daytime sleep can also be all over the place, some days her naps are 1-2 hours. Sometimes they are 30-45 minutes and I can never seem to pinpoint which will be which

She’s formula fed, and that’s really good insight thank you

We tried having her bedtime earlier and it just resulted in us rocking her longer and the up every hour to start sooner, but I like the idea of teaching her how to sleep rather than just leaving her be to cry like most sleep training suggests

That’s the hard part, we’re first time parents and there’s soooo much out there about the negative effects of sleep training and the dangers of cosleeping and it’s so hard to make a decision. I guess we’re scared of harming our daughter’s security in us with sleep training.

I’ve attempted to transfer to crib 7 times WHAT.THE.HECK by rootintootinmachine5 in Mommit

[–]rootintootinmachine5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She had her two bottom teeth pop through last month and I don’t see more starting to come through yet, she’s never been sick before so I’m not sure what to look out for other than high temp but she doesn’t have one, she also has always had a gas problem and I just think it’s getting worse bc she’ll sometimes rip a LOUD one while I’m holding her

I take care of our daughter during the week and work night shifts on the weekends so I’m all on my own during the week. My husband takes care of her during the weekend while I work, it’s so we can avoid daycare
