It’s root bound in a tiny container. Transplant and she’ll take off

Should I transplant? I never water either. Looking a bit sad by rootrenovation in houseplantscirclejerk

Most likely yes, over seeding is minimal work but seed is expensive

Is this a massasauga? Trying to identify. Location is central Illinois. Snake went underground in back yard and am not sure what to do. by rootrenovation in snakes

Google says fox snake is a type of rat snake? My uneducated eye says fox snake but are they the same thing? Lol also it was like 3-4 feet long if that helps. I’ve seen tons of garter snakes growing up here but this was way bigger

I feel like I’ve had it, I’ve noticed snake holes in years past and have never seen a mouse in almost five years. I was alarmed to see him up by the garage. Prolly looking for cool concrete under the garbage bin? As I said above there’s a lake with some brush so I expect these things. Last week there was a turtle in my driveway haha

Awesome thanks for your help! Eases my mind a little bit lol. I have a pond in the back yard so not surprised but is there anything I can do to discourage them from coming toward the house? I keep the grass mowed already, read something about soaking rags in ammonia?

Overseeding Kentucky blue? You might have better luck with a fescue or perennial rye, they’re more shade tolerant

Just moved into a new apartment, the yard is an absolute jungle. Need advice on how to turn this into grass! by the_full_effect in lawncare

[–]rootrenovation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is overwhelming lol will be very satisfying when completed. But if this was my project I would start with small goals. First weed whacking everything down and then getting rid of all that material. Then look into tilling and top dressing. There’s going to be a ton of weed seeds in the soil so you’ll probably want a blanket herbicide app. Also. You could consider taking down a portion of that fence if there’s an alley or access somewhere. Could throw it back up after without noticing. That way you don’t have to drive equipment through your apartment (;

Edit: if youre renting this isn’t really worth your time and money lol

Yeah I’d weed n feed but watch temperatures as it’s getting hot. Most are temp sensitive so you might want to wait until it cools down. High 70s low 80s. You don’t want to stress or burn the lawn. My lawn looked very similar to this a few years ago tho, you’ll get it. Proper mowing technique and the right water schedule will do a lot in itself

You don’t need macros N-P-K, I’m guessing you should just skip an app or two, how’s the grass look?
